I then went down a Donnilee rabbit hole and now I need to evaluate a lot of things that I feel about myself and how I feel about those things.
The “Dark Sex Series” Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. Why is this everything on paper I do not want and yet I found myself searching for series 8.
It’s going to take me a few days to recover from that!

My kiddo is newly 13 and oh my gawd … the drama. Gone is my little buddy that used to tell me everything and in its place is a drama and gossip magnet.
Recently my kiddo came out as gender non-conforming. They were AMAB and this shift to their new identity has allowed them to truly blossom and come into their own. They have a new confidence in themselves, a self assuredness that had never existed before BUT OH MY FUCKING GAWD THE FRIEND GROUP DRAMA.
It’s pride week at their middle school and apparently some kind of disagreement/dust-up has happened. Whatever, shit happens at that age. They’ll work it out I tell myself.
Except I’m in my bedroom listening to them on our back deck using language I don’t condone about a girl involved in the planning. My kid is “sick of her shit,” they’re going to “lose my shit,” over her attitude and “JUST SO SICK OF IT!”
So I’m doing my best here to figure out where the hell I land here. Do I tell them I heard them using this language? Do I be the heavy hand and tell them they can’t talk about people like that, especially a girl? Do I ignore it and hope it all works out for the best?
This group seems rife with friend drama and they always seem to somehow work it out. This time it seems more vitriolic, more … not okay.
I don’t even know what to do.
EDIT: it seems like my kiddo has their first girlfriend and someone removed them from the pride chat and kept kicking her out whenever my kid would re-add them. I get the reason behind the stomping and the yelling, but still … tone the drama down.
