Do NAU students take classes during the summer??

Hey everyone,

I’m starting the Clinical Psychology PsyD program at Northern Arizona University this fall, and I was wondering what summers are typically like. The cost of attendance calculator only considers the fall and spring semester but I swear I was told we have summer classes is this true?

If so do most students take summer classes, or do you usually get the summer off? If you do take classes, how many are typical, and how demanding are they compared to fall and spring semesters?
I’m especially interested in hearing from graduate students, but I’d appreciate any experiences from current NAU students. I’m trying to get an idea of what my workload and schedule might look like over the next few years.
Thanks in advance!

about to start grad school… got into a hit and run now I have no car…..

I’m looking for advice because I feel stuck and don’t want to make a bad financial decision.
I’m 23 and starting a PsyD program this fall. I’m waiting on my final financial aid package, and I’ll likely be relying on federal student loans while I’m in school.
The issue is that I currently need a vehicle and I’m trying to figure out the smartest way to go about it as a graduate student on a limited budget.
My biggest priority is reliability. I don’t care about having a flashy car. I just need something that can get me through the next 4-5 years of graduate school with minimal problems as long as I keep up with maintenance.
My questions:
How much car can I realistically afford as a graduate student?
Is it smarter to buy an older car in cash or finance something newer?
What makes/models have the best reputation for reliability and low maintenance costs?
Are rebuilt-title vehicles ever worth considering if they pass inspection?
What would you do if you were in my position?
For context, I live in Arizona and will be balancing school, internships, and part-time work. My goal is to keep transportation costs as low as possible while still having a dependable vehicle.
Any advice is appreciated.

Starting the journey to connect with my bio family

Hey guys, I am an adult 24 yo male starting his journey to meet my biological family, I took ancestry and it came up with a potential first cousin or half uncle. I had a couple of questions for those of you going through the same or similar things. 1. How does one obtain an original birth certificate AFTER an adoption birth certificate is issued listing the adoptive parents? (I was born in 2002 in Harrisburg, PA but was adopted in Pennsylvania, PA) 2. Any number or resources you guys could recommend! Thank you so much!
