Where to attach something to pull a Lancer onto a trailer?

For the sake of simplicity, let’s say I have a 2013 Mitsubishi lancer (front wheel drive, manual transmission) that doesn’t currently run. I need to winch it up on to a trailer to move it.

What can I safely pull it by without damaging anything?

Apparently Lancers manufactured outside the US have a spot to thread in a tow hook on the crash bar but the ones made in the US don’t. A lot of people in previous threads and forums said they installed one by drilling into the crash plate or welding one on. I took it to a mechanic (actually several) to ask about having this done, two of them refused to do it for liability reasons and the third one was willing to do something, but said to just use these tie-down loops(?) instead that they are attached to the frame and that would be fine. I tried to ask if there was a risk of damaging things in front of them when upward pressure was applied at the start of the ramp and they brushed it off.

I was trying to find more info online and naturally came across things that said NOT to pull it by those points that they will bend the rad frame.

I need this car on the trailer next Saturday and I’m going to be super honest that I’m not super mechanically inclined (obviously) which is why I was taking it to mechanics for help. I just want to be sure pulling it from that point won’t damage anything… or if it will, other suggestions about what I can do? I’m a single woman and have no one to help me move this car other than a trailer with a winch on it.

Any advice for what I can try to fix my fridge before calling (another) tech?

Going to try and keep this on the shorter side….

I bought a 1997 Pace Arrow Class A not too long ago. It was inspected by an RV tech. Fridge seemed to be working but was only running for an hour before we looked at it so we knew there was a chance it could not get to temp but had no way of knowing. Was the only major issue so proceeded with the purchase.

I moved into it “full time” two weeks ago. It ran for 24 hours on LP gas while we were loading up. Everything that went in it was already cold/frozen from my house fridge. It seemed cold but I didn’t have a thermometer in it. It ran on LP for the 4 hour drive to our current park and then was switched to 120V.

I purchased a thermometer and realized the freezer was frozen but fridge was still around 55°. I’ve been playing with it for 2 weeks based on suggestions in other threads. (Checked fans, Added fans, unplugged thermistor, re-levelled RV, put frozen bottles of water into fridge). Fridge still hasn’t made it to an appropriate temp but freezer was still freezing stuff fine.

Until today. Woke up this morning, bottle of water I put in the freezer last night was not frozen this morning for the first time. I had to leave for work so unfortunately couldnt do anything. When I got home, pretty much everything that was frozen is now fridge temp and the fridge is 65°. (Ambient temp outside has been 75-80°)

Is there anything else simple I can try before calling a tech? It sounds like all the fans are running, the tubing in the back is warm to the touch, all the lights are on in the fridge and the doors been closed all day, and seals seem good.

I hate to say I’m a little broke, but i am a little broke (currently a student that went to full time RV living because couldn’t find affordable housing) and replacing the fridge honestly probably won’t happen until fall. And the cooling unit in it was supposedly replaced 2 years ago (receipts for it were in the folder of stuff I got from previous owner).

Please help 😩

Mattress toppers for pull out?

Picture of said pullout for attention, with my dogs face when I told him that was my bed, not his 😂

Anyway…. I have this twin size pullout sofa in my 1997 Pace Arrow that I plan on having be my bed after renovating the back room into more of an office/dog space.

It’s actually fairly comfortable, like I’ve slept on worse, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a fold up or roll up mattress topper that might make it even better? Bonus points if it’s cooling but nothing that can be popped like an air mattress… for obvious reasons.

I’m afraid to buy a mattress topper online that I can’t try in a store first 😂

Switching from DepoProvera injection to Nexplanon?

I have always had wildly irregular cycles (read 6 months with no period, flowed by 40 days of bleeding straight and then a few weeks without and then some with and just zero “cycle” actually happening). I am not able to consistently take oral medications because I have the memory of a goldfish.

I started getting depo injections when I was 16 and have been taking them for 14 years. I have NO period with depo and I don’t have any effects from taking it that I can’t live with. I was later told I probably have some amount of PCOS but they couldn’t officially diagnose it without stopping depo and I said no thanks then.

14 years and I’m totally happy with taking it but my provider is refusing to give it any longer as I’ve had increased blood pressure this year. She wants me to change to nexplanon.

It seems like a lot of people have had terrible experiences but she said people who liked depo usually have a good experience. Like how concerned should I be that this is going to go terribly if depo has been perfect for 14 years?

I’m scared to change just because I literally can’t handle 40 days of bleeding and cramps. She was saying I could have a stroke with blood pressure and I crassly said I could commit suicide if I bleed for 40 days again. I’d honestly be happy to keep taking depo, even with the risk of meningiomas and bone loss because it makes my every day life livable but she won’t prescribe it.

I guess worst case scenario I get it, it doesn’t work, I get it removed and I find someone willing to give depo? I’m fairly convinced the blood pressure isn’t even from the depo, it’s just a coincidence….

Pet monitors for leaving dogs in RV?

I’ve seen some really mixed reviews between here and Reddit and other places… best setup to monitor dogs left in camper during outings?

*Please don’t tell me to just not leave them, it’s not an option. They will be crated and are quiet, I just want to make sure they will be ok regarding power outages and such. I have to live in this RV for work for a year and there’s no where else they could go other than back to shelters.

I was looking at Waggle to be all in one but it’s SO expensive (like over $400 for a year on top of buying them)!? And reviews are mixed.

At this point I’m looking at getting Necto monitor for temperature (only $130 for device and 1-year subscription) PLUS a Reolink Go camera ($165) for device and 1-year subscription. Both are cellular so no need to rely on wifi, and the Reolink has two way audio which is a feature I really wanted. Plus double safe because two different devices?

Just wanted to see if anyone had any other suggestions before I hit the purchase button on these?

*pic for tax 😂

Getting started - Electric hook up?

Hello, it was about 150 days ago I asked her for the first time info about getting started if planning to live in an RV for a year…

Yesterday I made the purchase. It’s a 35’ 1997 PaceArrow on the Ford Chasis. She’s old and she’s a lil dusty but she has great bones, only had two previous owners and has been maintained well and had some recent upgrades.

I’m literally still figuring this from the get go though and it’s a lot to try and understand. I have a mobile RV tech going to come and look at a couple things they found on inspection before we head off in 20 days. Our #1 questions right now is if the fridge will get cold (it wasn’t on long enough during inspection), and getting propane in it to make sure propane related things work (was empty on inspection).

I wanted to plug it in at my house so I could charge batteries and run the fridge and start cleaning it (I know I can’t run AC or anything crazy).

It came with a 30amp to regular outlet pigtail and the outlet outside my current house is about 80’ away (I can’t get it any closer). My question is, is it better to buy a 100’ 30AMP RV cord and plug the pigtail right into the outlet, OR buy a 100’ 10g outdoor extension cord and plug the pigtail into extension cord?

It would seem the regular outdoor extension cord would be more useful in the future but I don’t wanna eff around and find out with electrical things.

I also plan to buy a surge protector before we get to the first place we will be parked in June.

Also if you have any other need to know tips for a newbie currently reading the owners manual like a novel at bedtime, feel free to shout em out.

Thanks!
