New employee - a little worried
Hi everyone!
I just started at THD. Never thought I'd do it, tbh. But I needed a job, and the pay was decent enough for me to take it as an option. So, here I am!
I currently work at the service desk, and literally everyone is scaring me. For the past two shifts (first couple days on the floor) I've been on returns. Cool area, the people I work with are pretty nice. I'm used to using the POS confidently now. But... just HOW bad is the actual customer service desk? My coworkers are acting like it's the most detrimental, terrible, awful part of the store to work in. I generally pick up on things pretty easy, but these guys are talking as if I'm going to fail or hate it immediately.
Just to add, my store is (according to management) the 3rd busiest/highest volume store across all of THD. How true that is, I'm not sure, but we do get suuuper busy. The biggest thing I've seen people say is that it's just insanely difficult because of the amount of people who come in.
I guess at the end of the day I'm just looking for advice, and maybe reassurance if anyone has some to give? I assume it's the kind of thing I'll pick up on the more I actually do it, but if anyone's got some tips & tricks, that'd be cool. Thank you!
