American Parents - how are we keeping our toddlers asleep this weekend?

The booms just keep booming 🫠

Edit: I live in Los Angeles. Sound machines don’t do much against hours of M80s exploding 🥲 IYKYK

Restaurant recommendations for a milestone birthday dinner… but also with a 2 year old toddler.

I’m planning to take my family and the in-laws out for my husband’s 40th birthday. The catch is that we also got an energetic 2 year old boy that probably won’t be able to sit in a high chair for an entire hour.

I’m looking for a family friendly place where I can easily take the kid outside if he starts fussing, or some interesting decor that kid can look at.

5 adults, 1 child

Must have alcohol and good food. Doesn’t have to be a swanky fancy vibe. No budget. No food restrictions. No picky eaters except for the toddler (but I can always bring snacks for him).

Best comfy pillow thingy for a long flight?

First flight for my kiddo, and we decided to go ham with a nonstop 16 hour flight 😂

What are some comfy seat pillow thingys that I can get to make him sleep better?

We will not be flying with a car seat. It’s a battle everyday to get him seated in one, so for sure he does not like it. It will just make things more difficult on the flight. Also, we do not need a car seat at our destination anyways, so I would rather not have to carry it around.

We are in the Los Angeles area (SGV). We have a small gremlin child who will be ALMOST 3 years old when this trip happens.

My husband is turning 40 at the end of the year. (last week of December) I am also on track to FINALLY paying off a hefty six figure student loan in a few months, so I would also like to celebrate lol. I’m thinking 5 days and 4 nights? Or maybe 4 days and 3 nights?

I am debating between Hawaii v Cabo

Hawaii would be Oahu. Nice hotel with a car rental.

Cabo would be at an all inclusive resort that is family friendly. I haven’t started looking into any of the resorts yet, so recommendations are welcome.

I know an all inclusive vibe is totally different than having a car to go around. I guess I’m more concerned about finding things to do with a toddler

I’m pretty open ended with the budget.

I’m leaning towards Hawaii just cuz there’s more freedom…. But I have never traveled like this with a toddler before and I’m wondering if I should just keep it simple and do an all inclusive resort instead???
