Misty and Psyduck!
I’ve had this Psyduck for a while now, and finally got a Misty to go with him!

If you’re like me and you’ve been frustrated by Target hardly carrying this new wave of 1.5 inch figures, Macy’s came through. They had the full wave, but I just wanted Rosa :)
I’ve avoided these 5” movie figures ever since the first wave for the Mario Movie 1 came out. I never liked the eyes very much and I already collect 2.5 pretty obsessively so I didn’t see the point.
That was until they finally made a Cloud Luigi figure. I’ve been dying for a figure of either bro in the cloud power-up since I was a kid. I still tried to hold off since I have for this long, but my girlfriend bought me Luigi a few days ago and not long after I went back for Mario.
They make an amazing pair, and they’re super fun to pose! Despite me really not liking the movie, these are great. The only other one I’m eyeballing is the deluxe Wonder Bowser Jr.
Been a while since I posted a collection update! Managed to find the new Donkey Kong pack at Target today, so I’m all caught up again with 2.5” figures! I do have some variants that I keep elsewhere, but not very many. Let me know what you think!
Thanks to a fellow user on here directing me towards Acapsule, I was able to get these figures! I have been checking Target for a few weeks for Elephant Mario, so this was a welcome surprise. I adore Mario Wonder, so I’m really happy to have these!
I’ve been posting on this sub throughout the last few weeks as I played through the 2d Metroid games. I decided to save Super for last for a number of reasons, the main being that it was the only game in the series (excluding the original Metroid 1 and 2) that I didn’t have access to on original hardware. I had intended to play through this game on my modded 3ds, but my love for the Switch 2 pro-controller won me over to play it on NSO.
I will be honest, I’m not a big fan of NSO. The borders totally ruin the immersion with a given game and I hate having the rewind feature. While the rewind feature is awesome on paper, it takes the stakes out of a game like Super Metroid and just makes it too easy. Therefore, I avoided them like the plague throughout this playthrough. After a while, I was able to see past the borders and paid no mind to them.
This game is fantastic. I absolutely see why it’s so well beloved. I’m not sure where it ranks for me, but it’s either my 2nd or 3rd favorite 2d Metroid. Dread has been my favorite, but I think Super might barely beat out Fusion for my second favorite. It’s a tight race, but I love how Super doesn’t hold your hand so much. The bosses were tough and interesting! The music and atmosphere were also especially fantastic.
I’m sad to have reached the end of 2d Metroid, but I’ve already got Prime Remastered and recently ordered Prime 4 (just because I found an amazing price). I do have access to a Wii where I could play 2 and 3, but I’m largely considering PrimeHack on my PC. This series has been amazing, and I’ll absolutely be coming back to the 2d entries for years to come!
I have a few odd amiibos scattered elsewhere (such as the kirby series or the galaxy rosalina amiibo) but otherwise, this is my collection! I started collecting around October of 2024 when I became obsessed with the Zelda series and found them to be the best merch out there. I’ve expanded to other franchises I love now and finally made a designated shelf for them! I’ll eventually have to designate another shelf as I already have several more on the way or pre-ordered. Just wanted to share!
Once I beat Fusion right after Zero Mission, I kind of said screw it to the proper order of these games (I already knew the general story) and chose to focus on the games I wanted to play the most! Since my last post I’ve completed both Dread and Samus Returns! Dread took me a day and a half and Samus Returns took me two and a half. I didn’t really find Samus Returns hard, but I think the fact that I played so many of these games so close together was starting to burn me out a bit (I played Dread before Samus Returns). I chose to save Super for last for a few reasons, but I plan to get to it soon! My girlfriend also bought me Prime Remastered for our anniversary, so the marathon will continue (although I’m on vacation now, so it might slow down for sure)!
Dread is my favorite of the franchise so far, followed by Fusion. They both balance story with difficulty and Dread especially has an extremely satisfying loop of getting destroyed by a boss over and over until eventually I can beat them without taking a hit. I even beat Raven Beak without taking any damage after about an hour of attempts! These games are addicting and so rewarding, and I look forward to repeat playthroughs of them in the future!
The Evoker has been my most wanted LEGO Minecraft mob for as long as I can remember. I always hoped it’d be with a Woodland Mansion set, but given I hardly have any space to display LEGO anymore after moving, I am pretty happy he was in a $90 set and not something insane like $250-300 like a mansion would likely be. Been collecting this theme since 2014, and it continues to impress me year after year!
Just recieved my pre-order for the reissue of Boo Mario from the Mario Galaxy set! This has been a grail plush for me for a while now, so I was overjoyed when Sanei announced a rerelease. I was also surprised to see the return of the original tags (or something very close to them)! I figured they’d use the modern All-Stars tags, although I suppose these aren’t a part of the All-Stars collection. Still, I am extremely happy with this guy! I love Boo, so the Boo Mushroom is naturally my favorite power-up in the series!
Well, this happened a lot faster than I expected 😳 I just posted a few days ago about beating Zero Mission for the first time. I want to thank you all for being so welcoming and fun to talk to in the comments on that post! I originally planned to go in order with the 2d series, as I have Samus Returns, Super Metroid, and even Metroid Fusion installed on my 3ds. However, I had so much fun with Zero Mission and wanted to give my GBA SP (which I barely ever play) some more love. Therefore, I decided to jump over to Fusion. I was skeptical about buying this game online, but decided to take a chance on a seller who was happy to open up the game and verify it was legitimate. Even better, they were located in the same state as me!
I absolutely adored this game. I feel like I enjoyed it more than Zero Mission, but I definitely need some time to think about it and make up my mind. It was a lot more difficult, and I enjoyed being pushed out of my comfort zone with the lack of difficulty options in this game. I defaulted to easy mode in Zero Mission as a newby, and while I plan to go back and try harder difficulties, Fusion definitely pushed me along that path! I was able to beat this game almost entirely on my own, but admittedly used a few tips I found online for tougher bosses like Yakuza and Nightmare. As you can see, my collection rate for items was quite low, but that gives me even more reason to replay! The story of this game was extremely engaging (especially for a GBA game) and I found myself even more motivated to keep playing due to this. I have always been loosely familiar with the lore of the Metroid series so I didn’t have any trouble filling in the gaps on some references this game made to prior entries.
I do plan to play the other games in order, starting with Samus Returns on the 3ds. As mentioned in my last post, I have Dread on my switch as well due to an Amazon sale, so I’m all set to play through the series! Again, I wanted to thank you all for being so awesome and welcoming on my last post. I plan to keep posting as I continue my way through the series!
I’ve been a Nintendo fan for life, but Metroid is one of those series I never fully got into. I spent some time with both Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion, but I just recently found a copy of Metroid Zero Mission and played through it today! I’ve been looking for this game for a while now as I thought it’d be (obviously) a great entry point for me into the series, which it absolutely was! I know I didn’t grab even half of the collectables, but I absolutely plan to replay this game and up the difficulty when I do. I have 2-4 installed on my modded 3ds and Dread on my switch (which I just got recently thanks to an Amazon sale) so I’m all ready to go through the 2d series!! Super excited!
Just recieved the new Sanei Luma plush today! He is sooooo cute and looks amazing with my Cat Rosalina plush! I’m so happy! I pre-ordered from MecchaJapan, in case you were wondering! I also pre-ordered the upcoming Boo Mario reissue, so I’m very excited!
