40+ year Costco membership cards

Received 40+ year Costco membership cards today.

Nothing fancy, but they are printed differently compared to normal Costco cards. One came with scratches on it already.

Not sure if there is any benefit to these, did not know anything about them, they just showed up.

This Costco membership is older than I am

Door magnet locks compatible to Access Hub Mini

I just got the G6 Pro Entry and ordered the Access Hub Mini so I can use more of its features.

Recently, my wife and I realized we need to add top locks for our front door and garage entry door since we have a feral 2 year old that has discovered how deadbolts work.

The problem with top locks is you cannot unlock them from the outside. I’m sure there are other options that are not over engineered but what fun would that be?

I’m looking to see if anyone has recommendations for magnetic door locks for residential doors that work with the 12v on the door hub mini.

Building a tortie tower

So far she likes it, now I can look at a bowl of tortie every day. Waiting on more rope to finish the steps and mount some dangling toys

Unifi Talk Transition and Reliability

I went deep down the Ubiquiti rabbit hole over a year ago and I never really looked at Unifi Talk until the recent update where I started reading into it.

I have 10 Desk Phones at my office with 1 main phone number all through Verizon's OneTalk phone system. All of them are YeaLink T46G devices. Verizon assigns a phone number to each device but calls in and out are on our main phone number which is a Hunt Group/Virtual Number.

Upon investigating Unifi Talk it appeared that the $10 a month plan would fit our needs since we use just the main phone number and it can support concurrent calls on that line across multiple devices.

Seems almost too good to be true that either the $10 a month plan or $25 plan could completely replace what I have with verizon.

Here is what I am paying with Verizon that AI pulled from my bill:

Plan + One Talk Service charges only (the "true" One Talk spend before fees):

  • 10 Desk Phones × $19 = $190.00
  • Auto Receptionist line = $20.00
  • Mobile Client = $0.00 (fully credited)
  • Subtotal: $210.00/mo

Including all surcharges and fees (what actually hits your bill):

  • Desk Phones: $272.50
  • Auto Receptionist: $23.75
  • Mobile Client: $5.47
  • Total: ~$301.72/mo

I purchased a Unifi G2 Touch phone and set it up yesterday starting the free trial with a random number. I took one of the non active desk phones that we have and successfully reflashed it, wiped the auto provisioning to verizon, and have it added to my Unifi Talk account and have been playing with test calls, intercoms, transfers, etc. Seems like it would work the same way for employees as it did before for day to day phone usage.

My main question by making this post is asking reliability of the service and porting our main number over. Did anyone have any issues porting the number? I can't risk having our main line down during the work week.

Any issues with reliability of the service?

So far I love the way I can set up the voicemail greetings, hold music/generated speech, and the scheduling of after hours messages. Verizon OneTalk has these features (minus the speech generation) but it is a pain in the ass to even get through their web portal to do it.

Any other input/advice is appreciated

Saving $290 a month and taking myself even deeper down the Ubiquiti rabbit hole!
