Anybody know anything about a stranded train somewhere south of Grantham?

They just had us all get off our train so they can use our train as a "rescue train". Just wondering what happened considering our train was already standing-room only, that's a lot of people to have to cram onto the ones coming after.

Also, Rescue Train sounds like a good name for a movie or something 😉

To start Tret before a trip or not?

Hi all, I wasn't planning on starting tret but somehow I ended up buying some last night mostly by accident (Dermatica deal). Anyway I'm 41F and I have a pretty solid skincare routine going on at the moment, no major surprises happening these days I suppose. I'm going to on a trip for a couple of days in two weeks, nothing big, but I'm a bit spooked about starting it in case something out of control happens. At the same time, I don't know how well I'll realistically be able to resist trying it when it arrives (likely Thursday or Friday this week, trip is July 5th through 7th so well over a week between them). It's 0.025 and I'm already accustomed to 0.035 retinol. How big of a disaster might it be to do it one time when it arrives and then hold off until after the trip? The rest of my routine is solid right now, mostly azelaic acid 10%, a good Korean moisturizer, BoJ sunscreen, hypochlorous acid, and occasionally niacinamide.

Any advice is appreciated!

Started using Skin627 Ceramide with Pantheol moisturizer, strange reaction?

Hi all, I'd been using The Ordinary's ceramide moisturizer for a couple of months but hated how it made me feel like an oil slick (it absolutely was improving my skin, though). I started getting into K-Beauty, and when I ran out of TO I went to TK Maxx looking for Dynasty Cream but they were out. I picked up some of this Skin627 stuff since it seemed pretty solid and have been using it roughly once a day since last Saturday.

It does make my skin feel amazing, but I've gotten three very odd whiteheads the likes of which I've never seen before. They appear suddenly, are absolutely HUGE and painful for a couple of hours, then go away almost entirely within about three hours of starting to go down. They're also not really in spots I normally have acne (two on the cheek area, one on the chin, and I think a fourth was forming between my eyebrows but I put azelaic acid on it as soon as I caught it and it went away before it turned into anything).

I guess my question is, should I treat this as some weird kind of purging? I've never seen anything like it before. I love what it's doing for my skin *except* for these super weird spots, but obviously if they're going to persist like this I can't really keep dealing with that long-term. Does anyone have any idea what could be happening here or has had this happen? It's very frustrating when everything else about the product seems to be working great.

I went to the No 7 counter at Boots twice in the past week for the colour matching. The first one told me I was a Cool Vanilla, but I heard the machine is a bit wonky so I decided to go to a different one today and she matched me as Cool Ivory. I asked her to put each shade on a different cheek. The one on the left is the Cool Ivory and the one on the right is the Cool Vanilla. Honestly, I can't see a huge difference. Any thoughts on which is the better match? I'll add thst she didn't seem thrilled that I was questioning the Cool Ivory match so she didn't exactly blend the Cool Vanilla very well out of protest 😅
