What is this guy?

Located in MA

Found on a spare mattress in my ground-level basement as I was trying to bag up the mattress for storage. I know it's unlikely to be a recluse because they're not established up here but we have received a few deliveries recently so I wanted to check before I released him back into a crevice to continue his job as pest control.

Advice about skim coating

Hey everyone! I am about to start a painting project and I'm noticing a lot of imperfections in my walls and I am considering doing a skim coat on my walls to even everything out. The drywall was done in the 80’s by the original developer who is well known for working cheap and quick. There are some corner strips where the mud has chipped away and I can see that there is really only a thin coat of mud before the drywall panel.

I was planning on sanding the existing paint during prep anyways but I am wondering if doing a skim coat is necessary or If I should just patch and then paint.

If skim coating is best, is there additional prep work that needs to be done besides sanding? Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated!

Why is my shower making this noise?

Hello plumbers of Reddit!

I recently had the valve replaced in my shower and it started making this noise, I called our plumber and had them come out to check it out and they replaced it again thinking it might have been a faulty part. It’s still making the noise. (Video attached).
If anyone can give me their ideas before I call them back out for the third time that would be lovely, thank you!!

What is this plant?

Is anyone able to identify this plant? Google lense identified it as milkweed, zinnea, and also indian pink. First pick is of it today and second is an identical plant from about two weeks ago. They're growing all around the edge of the fence line so I assume they're spreading by rhizomes.

Edit: zone 6b in MA

Hi plant people! It's gardening time and I'm turning this area into a bed soon. Can someone tell me what is sprouting in my side yard( pic 1) ? I don't want to accidentally remove a native plant.

This sapling is also doing well, I suspect American chestnut, can anyone confirm or correct my identification?

Thank you!
