We thought we had a beagle mix…but this does explain the herding, loyalty, and energy! Also the sweetest girl (other than the leash reactivity we’re working on!). She’s only 25 lbs. We would never have guessed though. Any other ACD mixes masquerading as beagles and JRTs?
We’ve thought she was a beagle mix…but…nope! Embark says 45.6 percent Australian cattle dog! She’s energetic and stubborn and loving and cuddly, and dog reactive (she’s a rescue that had a tough early life.) She was also reactive to people outside the family when we got her, but four months (and many hotdogs) layered, we’ve seen a lot of improvement.
So, mostly here to figure out what I need to know about Cattle Dogs…I’ll read through the forum but any top tips are appreciated. Especially concerning any breed-specific tips for dog reactivity…
