Results are in for my pup

I do know where she’s from but it’s interesting to see how wisdom interprets her dna (she’s a technically a volpino but from farm dog lines, so she’s different to the show dogs) she’s 6kg now at 14 weeks. Will probably top out at 10-12kg. She’s a fantastic dog, friendly and happy. Very high toy drive.

But it’s interesting to see how wisdom interprets her small to medium sized spitz genes. Very curious to see what the embark test sais once those results come in.

Results for our Hungarian rescue pup Bony!!!

We thought he’d definitely be some sort of hound, the way he is super scent driven and has a solid howl! We adopted him from Hungary so the Kuvasz makes sence.

The super mutt including a dachshund made us laugh, I wonder if that’s his ears??

Would love to know if any of you have similar mixes

Results are in!

Very unsurprised with the hounds - she is a scent dog through and through! The chihuahua did make me chuckle (my boyfriend has a vengeance for them 😂)

Swore he was a pit bull mix! Just kidding, not surprised by the breed results but genetic health is very surprising.

If you're wondering about the floppy tail, that is due to a spinal injury. Don't worry he is totally fine besides the floppy feather duster.

Only real surprise in his breed is the high content of cattle dog; knew he had some herding in him by his behaviour by didn't think it would be that much. Was sold to his old owner as pom x Maltese.

How reliable are those genetic illness results though? He came from a byb and had only 33% genetic diversity (lower than average). Not complaining obviously, but should I get an embark to double check? Not even a carrier for anything just seems a bit too good to be true.

I’m shocked, SHOCKED I say!

Well, not that shocked.

She’s getting old, but she’s still a smiley girl

Had no idea the last breed even existed.

We got SparkeishaMae “Sparky” from a shelter at 3 months old. They were very certain she was Maltese and Mini poodle. Most likely due to her eyes being a little crossed outwards the typical Maltese eyes. I knew right away she had some chihuahua. My whole family has only had chihuahua’s plus she had chihuahua shaped head and ears. A side note that struck me as odd was that knew her exact birth date, and was taken in exactly 4 weeks but stated no other details. I am thinking puppy mill or hoarding based on the very small number of breeds. One of the 4 is often mistaken for a chihuahua so I assume they were trying to breed designer dogs and she doesn’t look like the “desirable designer dog”. Personally I think she is the absolute cutest thing ever and I love her little self so much. Results in last picture.

thoughts on clementines results? (pls read caption)

I was gifted an ancestry pet kit for clementine before they were bought by biopet (?) and i am curious to know what you guys might think about her results. i know that this test is not as accurate as embark or wisdom panel, but i have seen a couple ancestry results that weren’t total hokum.

Clementine is 3.5 years old, 20 pounds, hates rain, and loves to burrow. She has a huge personality and is super strong for her size. Others online and in person swore to me up and down that she was a pit mix but I was never totally convinced. I’ve always referred to her as an American Brown Dog lol.

The people i rescued her from did have boxers and staffys, but claimed that she and her littermates were found on a backroad in a cardboard box. The only other brindle siblings she had were fluffy and the rest had flat fawn coats.

Thanks for looking :)

Update on my ausssie/heeler/English Shepherd/pitbull mix

Some of you asked to see what he looked like when he was older, so I figured I'd post some teen photos. He was 23lbs at 3mos, and as of now, he is about 45lbs at 6mos and fairly short. I included some baby photos to show how much he's changed

Why is Pekingise in so many mixes?

Curious, why is there a small amount of pekingese in many of the Embark results?? Where is that coming from? I didn't think that was a common breed like "small poodle." Both of my Chihuahua mixes had a small percentage of Pekingese in them. They don't look like a Pekingese at all.

Meet Kaia!

Kaia was listed as German Shepherd/Akita on her kennel card. When I saw her jail pic, I had to go get her! I thought GSD, and some Husky due to her double coat, but this combo did not occur to me! She was about 8 weeks when I adopted her in 2014.

She does not "talk" and rarely howls with a siren. She's a good watchdog, she watches what's happening from under the fence and barks at the mail carrier and people picking fruit from the trees. She does not have a curly tail. If she wants something, she will stare at me until I figure out what she wants. She's not into toys but she will fetch. She weighs about 55 pounds.

Her Supermutt is Australian Shepherd, Australian Cattle Dog, and APB. Wolfiness is 1.9%.

Any guesses?

Marnie is 7 months, 32 pounds. She has very long legs, ears the flop over sometimes, she is very bouncy, goofy and super smart. She was adopted from the Sato Project in Puerto Rico in February. She was born under a trunk on “dead dog beach.” We love her and are super excited to see her results. I have no real guesses. What do you think?

Results for the stinky cheese man

We had Rodney’s breed and age reveal party and I was surprised at how mixed he actually is! I thought he would be only chi or mostly chi with a little yorkie. His age is crazy to me. He’s not even considered a senior but a mature adult 😭

Shelter said ACD/Pit mix

We got our boy from a shelter two months ago and they told us pit bull cattle dog mix! He grew almost 5 pounds in the first week with us and is now 53 pounds at 8 months. His brothers they had from the same litter were a) all black with a pittie face and white chin and chest markings b) medium brown with black eyebrows and features, and floppy ears

Our Guinness is white with a soft double coat and brown spots all over, satellite ears, spotted belly, paws and lips. Great temperament, tired out after an hour walk in the morning, then couch potato until we play fetch in the evening. He’s my shadow and hardly goes outside without me unless there’s mud to dig in or another dog to make friends with. He thinks every animal is his friend including large deer who frequent our yard and stamp at him.

I think DNA MY dog is accurate here, and I’m not willing to spend more money to find out it’s wrong.

Results in thread!

Surprising results from wisdom

What would you have guessed as her breed? 😊 - I am not denying village dog more so to not also be mixed with anything else, to come into the UK with a dog you need to have a microchip and she was found as a stray in the UK with no chip present therefore highly unlikely she has been outside of the country as is there really any smuggling two 40kg dogs ..

Generic "fluffy black dog"... What could she be?

First two pics are more recent, others are when she was young.
She's about 25kg (like 55lbs) and I adopted her from the shelter in Seattle in 2017, although we now live in Europe.
Super high energy and prey drive!

I sent off her Embark samples today!

Here’s another one…. Any guesses?

About 2 months after we adopted our second dog, I fell in love with this cutie. The rescue said she is golden retriever/border collie, but I’m not sure….. any thoughts?
