Hook into a flathead screwdriver

I was thinking yesterday about whether I could turn the hook into a flathead screwdriver, since I never use the hook anyway. I searched around online, including here, to see if anyone else had done it, but I couldn’t find anything.

Today, while scrolling through Reddit, I came across someone who had done exactly what I had been thinking about, which inspired me to try it myself.

So, I went ahead and did it — and I’m very happy with the result. However, I would like to make the screwdriver sit flush with the scales like it’s supposed to. I haven’t figured out a good solution for that yet. Right now, I have to use the mini screwdriver from the corkscrew or something similar to pry it up a little before I can grab it with my fingernail.

I took photos of the different steps along the way. I used a vise instead of a hammer like the other person did, and then carefully ground and shaped the final part afterward.

I’ve been thinking about modding a Compact by adding a Phillips screwdriver and a magnifying glass layer.

The idea is to create the perfect SAK that I can come up with. Will probably be like the picture but with red plastic scales

That said, I don’t really have a huge need for the magnifying glass. The other option would be the LED light, but I have even less use for that.

So my question is: are there any aftermarket tools I could install there together with the Phillips layer? In other words, not an official Victorinox tool, but something completely different?
