13 y/o 6 foot

My son is 13 and 2 months. He was 5'11 and 1/2" on this 13th bday. Now he's 6 foot and 1/2". We just had to go get him some 13s for shoes as he outgrew his 12s. He's also got huge hands. His hand span from pinky to thumb is 10 inches. Obviously can palm a basketball easily.

Here's his height by birthday

10 : 5'1

11 : 5'4

12 : 5'8

13 : 5'11 and 1/2

I'm 6 foot. His mom is 5'8. So neither of us are short, but not tall. I am one of the shorter guys in my family. My dad (his grandfather) is 6'3 and most of my uncles/cousins are 6'3+. I have one uncle who's 6'9 and a cousin who's 6'7. He doesn't have any cousins or uncles so I can't compare there.

He hasn't really had any pain but his ankles and feet crack so loud when he walks lol.

No idea if it correlates but both my wife and I grew 7 inches from 13-14 in one year. Then an inch or so only after that.

Yes, he plays 🏀 lol...anyone have a similar growth scenario/genetics? Where you end up?

Height change overnight question

My son is 13 and 2 months old. He's 6 foot and 1/2" exactly in the morning. I've measured 3 mornings in a row to confirm. At night these 3 days he's 5'11 and 3/4". Is that normal? Just feels like a lot.

I'm 5'11 1/2" and it's funny because definitely he's taller than me in the morning, but we're much closer at night. He's still got me, but not by much as I only seem to lose 1/4" from morning to night

He also plays basketball ALL day and sleeps like 10 hours, where I am 40 and work from home and just jog occasionally for exercise

This normal?
