WIP- Chaplain as Test of textures

I wanted to test different materials on the same miniature. Letting look the fabric like something silky, leather as natural as possible and the paper as well.

I am not so happy with the fabric, feeling it needs more highlights to produce a silky texture.

Every advice is happily taken.

The second picture shows a little bit of my progress. I used an airbrush for the transitions.

Natural skin tone - learning

I could use some advice here. On the left side is my starting point on this evening and the skin was too pale. Therefore I tried to reintroduce some colour and a warmer skin tone.

Greatest impact is of course on the face but I also did the chest.

Do you think I need to add or change some more in one direction or another? Or could it be pulled together if I focus on hair and clothing next. (The red jewels will be the last step.)

PS: Hope this doesn't already count as NSFW or Pinup. It's just an academic bust.

My little Space of Nurgle

This is a small fraction of the Nurgle miniatures I have painted. There is simply not enough room for every model, but I am happy to display some in the living room.

PS: Sorry for the low Quality pictures. Let me know if you like see a specific model up close.

8 years...

This was my first ever painted Warhammer miniature and I still like it. It's been more than 8 years now, that I have been in this hobby. Painting is definitely my absolute favourite part of the hobby. I like to remember how it all started and how my journey went. Now I am able to paint commissions and participate in contests. Back then I was simply happy to see grey plastic coming to life.

What's your personal experience with the hobby and what's your favourite part of it?

Finished this challenging piece

This was a commission piece I just finished. It was challenging to put the details together. I am very happy with how the skin turned out.

Different approaches in the mortar

Which one would you prefer? The classical green with the rust or the more colourful one with the yellow pigments?

Very small details on a base

I just helped a friend with this miniature he wanted to play in a tournament. He said that I should just go for a bottle ready look and for the mini I did just that.

But the base was an opportunity and I simply had to try different things on all these monitors.

I had a lot of fun and my friend was very happy with the result. What do you think of it?

Foul Blightspawn

My bright version of the Blightbringer. It's an old model but I still like it. What do you think?

Great Unclean One - Rotigus

This is my version of Rotigus, aka the Great Unclean One. Arms and heads are magnetised.

It's a quite classical approach but I am really happy how it turned out.

Nurgle Great Unclean One with unique basing

It took me more than 2 weeks of daily painting but it was an awesome experience. I really love how it turned out. Pretty classical but very detailed.

What do you think? Where can I improve?

Vampire Bust Grigore

My favourite piece. A cold vampire skin and a warm contrast.

How do you like it?

Open for commissions.
