OMP M2V3 Sport Rescue Switch is legit!

Flying today and its very windy, my M2 got away from me and started flying fully sideways right towards a bunch of trees!

I froze up and first and was stunned to think I was gonna destroy my new heli(have about 16 batteries flown so far).

At the last second I hit my rescue switch, which thankfully I had set up just a couple days before. It worked wonderfully! The heli re-oriented upright and blasted straight up into the sky missing the trees and saving me from collecting parts in the forest!!

I had tested the rescue switch of course but just at a hover and it worked wonderfully. I hoped it would work when the heli wasn’t upright and it sure did!!

TLDR: Rescue mode is totally legit and an amazing feature!

Dug this out of the closet the other day. Getting back into flying and WOW have things changed since I last flew this in 2017! Luckily I stored my lipos properly and 3 of the 4 I have for this survived!

The cc3d atom is still programmed and the receiver is still bound to the radio! Flies just like I remember!

I want to try and download the old librepilot software to see if I can still change settings on the cc3d but I don’t want to risk bricking it! It flies and will keep me occupied until I decide what to buy and build now.

Going to start with a traditional single rotor helicopter(OMP M2 V3) and hopefully order parts and start a 5” build soon

Thought I’d share this “old relic” lol

Its not that old!! I guess it is in the fpv/drone world…
