I’m torn about the latest news from Sony… am I the only one?

Along with most of the internet, I’m pissed at Sony because they plan to eliminate physical game discs starting 2028. Without going into the details of it here, I want to join the “protest” by canceling my PS Plus subscription but….GT7 is my obsession and about 90% of the time I’m playing a video game it’s GT7.

However, if I cancel my PS Plus, I lose access to GT7 and it becomes a shell of a game. I’m torn on how I feel about the whole thing and I’m curious how everyone else feels about it. I do have several offline racing games I’ve been meaning to play and this would provide the perfect excuse to play those without the distraction of GT7. But still…maybe I keep my subscription right up until 2028 if they don’t change course before then?

My one regret as a Stargate fan

Back in 2014/2015 I was working at film equipment and studio rental company in Dallas, TX when a movie called Bad Kids of Crestview Academy was in town filming. One day they rented out on of our studios to film a couple of green screen shots and I got a look at the call sheet and saw that the Director was listed as Ben Browder.

I thought, “surely not that Ben Browder.” So I poked my head into the studio and, yes, it was that Ben Browder. Of course, being in a professional setting, I couldn’t just go up to him and start fanboying out, so I resigned that my “claim to fame” was that I got to be in the same room as Ben Browder.

But later that day, I was walking down the hall and saw my boss talking with Ben. I had planned to just keep walking and keep it professional but my boss (not knowing I was a Stargate fan) flagged me down, saying he wanted to introduce me to him.

Of course, internally, I was freaking out but I was REALLY worried about coming across as an annoying fan if I said anything about Stargate, so I kept it professional and pretended like I didn’t know who he was. I shook his hand and we talked for about a minute or two before he had to get back to set.

To this day, I regret not telling Ben I was a fan and that I appreciate his work on Stargate. Now that I’m older, I know there are ways to express that without coming across as a crazy fan and I wish I had taken the opportunity I was presented.

(Side note: before posting this, I had to look the movie up on IMDB to make sure I was getting the name right and had no idea Sean Astin was also in the movie!! He was never on set the days they were renting our Studio or I would’ve been doubly star struck!)

I finally FINALLY had enough self discipline to save up 20,000,000 credits. Which of the cars with that price tag should be my first purchase?

This may be a dumb question, but I see these player created logo packs and I’m wondering how to apply them so that you’re only applying the single logo you want at a time. Do you cover up the logos you don’t want with something that matches the body paint underneath? Or are these really just meant to be slapped on the car, all in a line?
