Has Anyone Bought Refurbished Items off Openbox.ca?

Looking to get a refurbished iphone on openbox.ca but found mixed reviews. It looks like clearance items on final sale. Has anyone bought refurbished apple products off openbox.ca? If so, what was your experience?

How Bad Are Carpenter Ant Infestation?

Hi Reddit. I am looking to get some advice. I live in a townhouse and we've had our garden beds treated for carpenter ant last year in August. At that time, I noticed holes in some old wooden siding that lined the garden beds. There was some frass. An exterminator came and sprayed the perimeters of the townhouse. The exterminator also left an ant bait station. The exterminator recommended that we removed some dead trees and the rotting wooden sidings to keep the ants from returning. However nothing was removed due to cost issues.

This summer I noticed new frass around the garden beams again. Is this cause for alarm? Should I worry that the ants might come indoors? I am trying to gauge how serious this issue is. I plan on emailing the property manager again but not sure how concerned I should be.

Got Charged $100 Extra for FortisBC Gas Bill - Help!

Hi Reddit,

My FortisBC gas bill is usually around $30–$40/month, but this month it came in at about $130. Nothing has changed in my usage (no new appliances, same habits, no unusual cold weather, etc.).

I called FortisBC and the rep suggested the issue might be an incorrect meter reading. I provided the correct current meter reading, and he said he updated it on their end.

What confused me is that he also said he couldn’t tell me what the corrected bill would be based on the updated reading, and suggested I either:

  • pay my usual average amount for now, or
  • wait and pay both bills when I get the new bill next month

That doesn’t feel very clear to me, since I’m worried about possible late fees or interest if the $130 isn’t properly adjusted in time.

Has anyone dealt with something like this before? Is it normal that they can’t provide an updated amount after correcting the meter reading, and how long does the adjustment usually take?

Hi Reddit,

I’m trying to understand if this is normal.

What confused me is that he also said he couldn’t tell me what the corrected bill would be based on the updated reading, and suggested I either:

  • pay my usual average amount for now, or
  • wait and pay both bills when I get my next month's bill

That doesn’t feel very clear to me, since I’m worried about possible late fees or interest if the $130 isn’t properly adjusted in time.

Has anyone dealt with something like this before? Is it normal that they can’t provide an updated amount after correcting the meter reading, and how long does the adjustment usually take?
