I think a flat tire made me realize why we weren’t meant to be

On February 14th, 2026, we spent the entire day together. I genuinely loved that day. I felt like I fell in love with him all over again.

But now, looking back, there’s one moment that I keep thinking about.

We ended up getting a flat tire, and his immediate reaction was to panic and get frustrated. I remember being scared too, but instead of leaving him to deal with it, I stayed. I didn’t even know how to change a tire, but I held the light, tried to help, and did whatever I could because I loved him. I wanted to be there through the highs and the lows.

What really hurt was that he seemed genuinely angry at me for the situation, even though I was already scared and was trying my best to help. I kept thinking, what if this is something we have to deal with together in the future? What are we going to do then?

I realized I don’t want a partner who panics or lashes out when something goes wrong. I want someone who can take a breath, think analytically, and figure out what needs to be done. Whether I’m there to help or not, I want to know that my partner can handle a crisis without making me feel like I’m the problem.

I would still want to be there. If he needed a moment to himself to figure things out, I’d give him that space. But I don’t want someone getting mad at me because something went wrong when I’m standing there, scared, holding a flashlight and genuinely trying to help.
And weirdly, I think I’m grateful that this happened.
Because even though I loved him, that moment showed me something I probably needed to see. Loving someone through the highs and lows is important, but so is being compatible in how you handle the lows.

I’m glad we didn’t end up together. I think that flat tire showed me a version of our future that I didn’t want.

why does it feel like original thought is disappearing?

it’s so annoying how rare genuine opinions feel these days. everyone seems to repeat whatever the majority is saying, whatever is trending, or whatever gets the most approval.

and why is everyone so performative now? who are y’all performing for? why does everything have to be curated, even your opinions and personalities?

people used to be so authentic with whatever they had to say. even when their opinion was unpopular, at least it felt like it was actually theirs.

now it feels like people are afraid to think differently unless it’s socially acceptable first.

maybe i’m overthinking it, but genuine individuality feels so rare now and honestly it’s kind of disgusting.

Is it weird to miss someone sexually after a breakup even though they were toxic?

I broke up with someone who was pretty toxic and honestly ruined my mental health and peace of mind. I know the relationship wasn't good for me, and I don't regret leaving.

But I still miss them sexually sometimes. Like, I miss the physical intimacy and the chemistry, even though I know being with them was bad for me.

Is that weird? I feel kind of conflicted about it.

Aren’t I stupid?

this broke my heart so much, but i feel like this is the closure I needed. he even said “don’t drag yourself back to me” “i think you are doing better without me” which is true. im so confused man i hate myself for even talking to someone who cares the least bout me.

Women who free bleed... how does it actually work?

Just learned about free bleeding and I'm shocked. If you practice it, how does it work day to day? Genuinely curious, no judgment.

For anyone going through a breakup with an avoidant: it does get better. I really wish i could give you all a hug.

I know it doesn't feel like it right now. I was in a relationship where I'd consider myself pretty secure. I communicated, tried to work through problems, and genuinely wanted to fix things. But the hard truth is that you can't fix someone who doesn't want to do the work themselves.

One thing that drove me crazy after the breakup was feeling like they weren't hurting while I was falling apart. It looked like they were living life as if nothing had happened. Over time, I realized that appearances don't always tell the whole story. Some people cope by staying constantly distracted instead of sitting with their emotions. That can work for a while, but avoiding your feelings isn't the same as healing.

Eventually, those unresolved issues have a way of resurfacing, whether it's in a new relationship, when life slows down, or when they're forced to face themselves. Delaying healing doesn't make it disappear.

Meanwhile, you're doing the hard part now. You're grieving. You're processing. You're learning what you will and won't accept in a relationship. You'll come out of this with stronger boundaries, more self-respect, and a much clearer idea of what you deserve.

I've also noticed that many avoidant people eventually look back with regret. Not all of them reach out, and not everyone changes, but regret isn't uncommon once the distractions fade and reality catches up.

Whether you believe in karma or not, life has a way of making us face the consequences of our choices eventually. Your ex's journey isn't yours to manage anymore.

So don't wait around hoping they'll realize what they lost. Let them figure that out on their own.

Your job now is to heal, rebuild your life, and become someone who no longer settles for breadcrumbs. One day you'll look back and realize you survived something you thought would break you, and you'll be grateful you chose yourself.

Avoidant ex came back after no contact saying he's changed. I feel like I'm back at square one.

Me (22F) and my ex (21M) were on and off for about 6 months. I finally decided to end things and go no contact in June because the relationship had left me with so much hurt, resentment, and trust issues.
It's now mid-July, and he reached out. He told me he realized how badly he treated me, that he wants to change, doesn't want to hurt me anymore, and wants me in his life for the rest of it. He kept saying he's a "changed man" and wants another chance.
The problem is... I don't know how I feel anymore.
During no contact, I was finally starting to heal. I still missed him sometimes, but I felt like I was making progress. Then after talking to him, I completely spiraled. I've been crying ever since because it feels like all the progress I made disappeared overnight.
I don't even know if I want him back. I care about him, but I also feel incredibly uncomfortable and overstimulated whenever I think about getting back together. My body almost feels like it's rejecting the idea, even though a part of me still loves him.
The trust issues and resentment didn't disappear just because he says he's changed. They were built over months, and I don't know how someone can undo that with words.
I genuinely don't know what to do, and I feel like I'm back at square one emotionally.

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO DO CAUSE I FEEL SO LOST. Please. please. please.
