Brutal honesty

I haven’t started GLP1’s but am HEAVILY considering it. I have tried to lose weight on my own all year and have seen little progress. I injured my back which has made keeping my deficit up more difficult. For reference i am 28F, 5’6, 228lbs. With my back injury it’s been hard for me to really do any heavy lifting or running. Being more stationary than I’m used to has also given more time for food noise to creep in. I really want to continue to lose weight but I am worried about that being viable with my current situation, which is where the GLP1’s come in.

Please be fully, brutally honest, what can I expect from them realistically? Will progress still be made without being able to be very active? Will they help cut down the food noise? Have you had any side effects? What is a realistic timeline for weight-loss with them, as in how quickly can I expect to see/feel a difference? Is loose skin unavoidable without lifting weights? How exactly do they make you feel? I don’t want to be crabby all the time. I have also heard they are not easy to get off of once started, is that true? Has anyone had any experience/trouble with that or anything else?

Starting a period early or postponing it?

Basically the title. I’m going on a trip in about 10 days, rural camping. I can’t postpone the trip and yesterday (maybe tmi) I felt the beginning of pms, sore, swollen breasts, minor cramping, etc etc. Anyways, my periods are irregular so I don’t ever really know when it’s coming, even pms isn’t a sure sign it’s coming soon, sometimes ive gotten pms symptoms and still hadn’t started for another two-three weeks. Being as im going to be no where near functioning restrooms with toilets/trash to dispose of period products I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with jumpstarting their period or postponing it? I know some women have had luck starting it early with exercise, masturbating, I’ve even seen vitamin c before? But are there any other surefire ways to jumpstart it your period? My periods are usually about 5 days so I a have few days to try to bring it on but if there isn’t anything that would do it that quickly then is there any ways to postpone it? Ive seen birth control can postpone it but knowing that bc is also used to just regulate periods im worried it would do the opposite and I would still start while camping I also do not have great insurance to try to get in to a doc to have a prescription within the timeframe. Is there anything holistic or otc that anyone knows of to postpone it?

▲ 8 r/Nanny

Not totally sure if that’s the right tag so if it’s not I’m sorry! I’ve been a nanny for about 7 years now officially. It’s pretty much the only job I’ve had besides a couple of other short term retail type jobs. I started babysitting in high school and when I was done I pretty much went full time with one family and became a full time nanny for them. I ended up staying with that family for years, even now I still nanny for them just not quite full time anymore. However whenever I talk to people about what I do or am asked about it i get “so like a babysitter” SO often. And there’s nothing wrong with being a babysitter but idk, it makes it feel like my job is being infantilized or not taken seriously. Especially if whoever asked knows I’m 27. Like the way it’s responded to feels very “you’re too old to be a glorified babysitter“ and hey, maybe that’s my own projection but I was wondering if maybe there IS an age where it is ”too old” to be a nanny still? I don’t really think so, but do you guys? am I way too in my head about it? Idk it sometimes makes me feel bad about this job or telling people about it which sucks because I love what I do but idk

edit: I just wanted to say thank you guys for commenting and giving your input on it! It’s really made me feel better about it. I think always getting the comments on it not being a serious job were really getting to me and I appreciate you guys for I guess validating that it IS a legit job and career. thank you, seriously! 🩵
