[WIP] Of Steel & Starlight: A Skyrim Romantasy Modlist

A few months back, somebody on r/skyrimmods asked for recommendations befitting of a pretty princess. I made a follow-up post with some answers. And then, u/BloodSoakedMoose asked if I’d be willing to create a Wabbajack list based on that follow-up post.

So this is that (WIP) mod list!

A summary:

———

Of Steel & Starlight is a Skyrim Special Edition mod list designed for whimsical playthroughs inspired by romance, fairy tales, and fantasy.

With nearly 1,500 mods, Tamriel has been transformed into a land of vibrant weather, flora-filled towns and forests, and close-knit relationships—a far cry from the realism and grit of other mod lists. In cities await laughter-filled inns, bustling marketplaces, and unique (and attractive) locals. In the wilds, you’ll discover fantastical woodlands, dramatic mountain regions, charming villages, and moody, fog-cloaked ruins. And throughout the world, landscapes are ruled by vibrant sunrises and sunsets, resounding storms, and dazzling auroras.

But there is no light without darkness, and no fairy tale is complete without worthy villains to balance out the world. For every wildflower meadow, colorful creature, and friendly NPC, you’ll find a dangerous ruin, deadly beast, or pitch-dark dungeon filled with draugar waiting to be defeated. Lucky for you, you’ll be armed with plenty of new weapons, protective jewelry, and faithful companions (both human and animal) to help you navigate a kingdom as filled with fantasy as it is with horrors.

With OS&S, you can also expect:

  • 40+ new romanceable companions and vanilla NPCs
  • New followers with thousands of fresh, quest-aware lines
  • Hundreds of new appearance, hairstyle, and clothing options worthy of royalty
  • Overhauled combat and magic systems
  • Immersive gameplay options, from beer brewing to settlement building

and other world enhancements that'll make this feel like a brand new game.

I'm still working on a few additions (and am looking for a few people to help me troubleshoot some fixes I can't quite figure out!), but wanted to share! Especially since the Skyrim mods subreddit doesn't allow videos or photos, which I only realized after making this trailer, lol.

(I’m also not sure why I have a flickering HUD in a few clips—I haven’t experienced that at all in-game, so not sure if it’s something to do with the recording or what. But hopefully y'all get the idea!)

Has anybody ever gotten The Great Cities of JK's North to work?

And, if so, could you walk me through it? Or am I being greedy and better off just combining JK's with one other overhaul? I'd love to make it happen, but this has been compatibility chaos, I've been at it for days, and other threads about this don't seem to have clear instructions.🙃

Just confirming the mods I'm working with (in this order), which are what's listed on the mod author's page:

I've also got patches for JK's Skyrim, COTN Falkreath, and GCO Winterhold on deck, as well as Skyrim Landscape and Water Fixes since I saw someone mention that helped them (alas, it didn't change anything for me). My mod list is otherwise stable, so I'm wondering if there's a patch I'm missing somewhere...

I'm committed to making a separate Help/Installation walkthrough post if we can get it figured out, though, just so that future strugglers have clear instructions, too!

Thanks in advance y'all ☆゚.*・。゚

[TOMT][Website] A 2000s/very early 2010s website mainly for tween girls centered around making colorful text designs?

Fellow former teenage girls, please help me! This website felt like the precursor to a Tumblr addiction, lol.

It was a website that was largely based around making text posts—not in the sense that websites like FML/MLIA were text-based, but text designs or text "cards.”

You could use a bunch of different fonts, change the background colors, and do some (very light) HTML coding to make them look cool. The content of the designed posts weren’t anything complex—think copypasta, confessions, quotes, bucket lists, poems, and generally stuff that felt like it could have also appeared on JustGirlyThings.

IIRC you could also like and (potentially) comment on posts, as well as follow users!

A list of websites it is NOT:
PicMonkey, Polyvore, Quozio, Typorama, PicLab, BeFunky, Picnik, Quotev, Wattpad, Xanga, Stardoll, deviantAT, WeHeartIt, Stumbleupon, Photobucket, Pixlr, Weebly, Glitter-Graphics

A CLUE / BONUS: This may or may not help, but there used to be a popular copy pasta poem about summertime that rhymed and often made the rounds. One of the lines was something along the lines of “Lemonade / in the shade…” and it ended with “That’s what summer’s all about.” That’s generally the kind of tone of the content you’d find on there ahaha. To be honest, I'd be just as excited if somebody remembers this poem as if they remember the overall website!
