Swapping from 7.2 to Mounjaro

Stats: 5'7" | SW: 121 kg (266 lbs) | CW: 108 kg (238 lbs) | Total loss: 13 kg / ~31 lbs in 7 months | Provider: SheMed (UK)

I started Wegovy in mid-January this year and I'm really proud of what I've achieved so far. This is the first time I’ve had genuine success with weight loss, and I’ve had some incredible non-scale victories (fitting into smaller dress sizes, feeling fitter, etc.).

Throughout my journey, my weight loss pattern was usually “loss, loss, loss, gain, then loss again when upping the dose.” I moved up every 4 weeks until reaching the highest maintenance dose in June of 7.2mg.

However, over the last 7–8 weeks, I’ve hit a complete stall:

The Stall: I've been stuck in a loop of losing and regaining the exact same 1 kg (2.2 lbs) over and over.

Routine: In June/July, I started hitting the gym consistently (3–4 classes a week) and walking 8,000+ steps most days.

Calories: Eating roughly 1,600–2,000 kcal to fuel my activity (at 5'7", 1,200 felt unsustainable and too low as recommended by TDEE).

Perception: Even though I know the "paper towel effect" is real, I can’t see the difference in the mirror yet, and no one has commented, which adds to the mental frustration. I can buy something’s in smaller sizes but this isn’t consistent so it’s not a full “I’ve lost a dress size”

Side Effects at Top Dose:
I was lucky with minimal side effects early on, but the top maintenance dose hit me hard - especially been given the all in one 7.2 mg pen (no more 3 x 2.4 mg)
- Severe stomach pain and non-stop diarrhoea
- Awful sulphur burps
- Skin sensitivity: to the point where fabric simply brushing against my arms and body felt painful and tender.

The Move to Mounjaro (MJ):
Given the plateau, the intense side effects, and the cost difference (MJ is nearly £50/month cheaper with my provider then max dose Wegovy), I’ve decided to switch to Mounjaro. They are starting me at 5 mg due to my prior tolerance on higher-dose semaglutide.

For those who switched from Wegovy to Mounjaro (especially starting around 5 mg after a plateau), how did you find the transition? Did it help break your stall or ease side effects?
Any advice or guidance would be helpful!

Yesterday, she finally blamed me out loud.

I (26F, White British) and my partner (26M, Asian British) have been together for nearly three years and living together for two. He deals with chronic health conditions that make daily life and travel exhausting, which requires careful pacing.
I love him deeply, but his mother is an absolute nightmare—and it’s reaching a breaking point.
To stress, she has always been very warm and welcoming to me. But I’ve seen how she is behind the facade and the damage she does to people, especially her own kids. And I’ve always had a gut feeling I would be a problem and yesterday it was said out loud.

The Background & Red Flags
From week four of our relationship, the red flags were waving:

Emotional Abuse: I watched him break down in tears after she berated him over the phone for missing an event, then turned the extended family against him with fabricated stories.

Inappropriate Boundaries: During our very first meeting (at 4 months dating), she brought up an ex-situation she wanted him to work out and badgered us about getting married, stating I "should be comfortable" discussing it. I had a full panic attack the next day.

The Puppet Master Routine: Any time we made independent plans, she’d manipulate him in private until he caved and altered our plans to suit her demands.

The Current Nightmare: The Relocation Obsession
We live mortgage-free in the Midlands, in a home he has owned for nearly a decade. It’s ideally located for my career, his recent studies/local job search, and our support network.

His mother lives two hours away near London, and she has developed an unhinged obsession with forcing us to move closer to her:

She refuses to travel to us. We are always expected to do the exhausting 2-hour drive to her. When we do, we’re treated like an afterthought—forced to play caterers/cleaners for other guests she springs on us without notice.

Neglect of his health: multiple times, she failed to provide adequate sleeping arrangements, forcing us onto the floor—a massive issue given his chronic health condition. Her response? "If you lived closer, this wouldn’t happen."

Non-stop harassment: She bombards us with near London-area property links (despite having zero deposit or income for a London mortgage right now) and lies that his brother "wants us to move closer.”

Guilt-tripping: She constantly takes digs at my family, claiming we "always see them," conveniently ignoring that my parents actually make the effort to drive to us, and that we have statistically spent far more time with her this year.

Neither of us wants to move. He has wanted distance from her toxic, image-obsessed behaviour since long before he met me.

The Breaking Point: The "War" Has Begun
Yesterday, my partner told her about solid local job prospects that would solidify our life here. After she started downplaying his opportunities, she dropped the mask and said:
"Yeah, well you won’t move closer to home anyway because [My Name] won’t let you."
My partner lost his temper and defended me, reminding her he decided never to move back home long before he met me. She tried to backtrack, and he tried to reassure she "didn't mean it." I think she thinks I would never hear this comment but my partner told me and the below.

Except this follows a comment she made last year that I was the cause of his anxiety. Like honey, take a look in the mirror.

Where My Head Is At
I am completely exhausted. Every single family event, holiday, and mention of marriage is an emotional landmine. My partners exhausted from her behaviour and tried to put up walls but she his mother and tears them down. I’m exhausted how much this consumes our life.

I am in fear of Christmas this year, which she shouldn’t celebrate anyway, as she’s tried to claim us for it in early February in a twisted manner. I’m not going out principle of how it was done, the fact she doesn’t celebrate Christmas and does it for her image, I work Christmas as well, and it’s all based around her partners family? Which leds us shoved in a travel lodge down the road - this is a whole other topic and thread to start because boy is it long.

My partner once told me: "You won't leave this relationship because we don't work; you'll leave because of my mother.”

At the time, I didn't want to believe it, but now I can't disagree. I despise how much headspace this woman takes up, and I genuinely don't want to be around her anymore.

Has anyone else dealt with a partner's parent actively trying to scapegoat and sabotage you like this? Did setting strict low/no-contact work, or is this the beginning of the end?

MCR tattoo ideas / inspo

It’s very clear MCR re-takeover is fully consuming everyone else’s lives right now too.

Now that I actually have adult money and freedom, I'm finally giving in to the urge to get the MCR ink 10 year old could only dream of.

I’ve been messing with “Awake and Unafraid” as it’s always been the most meaningful lyrics to me and feel I owe teenage me some loyalty. But I’ve come up with like 10 designs and yet none feel like the right tattoo. And I don’t want to just get it for the sake of it, as an important part of my life, I want it to be right.

Anyone else going through this crave, or actually done it?

Would love to see your MCR ink, inspo pics, or hear which direction you'd go!

My Chemical Sadness: The Post-Parade Blues

Last month I was lucky enough to see MCR live at Wembley twice, and I don't think I’ve ever had a harder crash from a concert high. The day after the second show, I spent the entire day crying randomly in public—it just hit me out of nowhere.

It feels like my teenage obsession was reawakened. I'm completely fixated again. I’ve been wearing merch most days, buying extra online, and setting up my MCR vinyl on the turntable surrounded by my old "Yay or Nay" posters and magazines. Their music is on non-stop, I’ve rewatched Life on the Murder Scene, and I'm digging up old podcast archives just to stay in that world. I even posted all my videos to social media - an unprecedented move by myself - just to want to find and belong with others.

I know a huge part of this stems from waiting 17 long years to cross this off the top of my bucket list, but I can’t properly describe how deep these post-concert blues are. Now that the American tour is back in full swing, I'm glued to every single update, feeling this empty sadness and longing. I’ve genuinely never experienced post-show depression like this. Is anyone else trapped in the Black Parade Blues?

Edit:
P.S. If anyone wants to relive Wembley with me or just needs a fix of live clips to help cope with the post-show blues, I posted some of my videos from the night over on my TikTok here: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZN8RVaBfw/

Edit 2:
Thank you every for sharing your experiences and emotional rollercoaster rides. #wellcarryon 🖤
