The blundstones winter version makes my feet sweat like crazy

When I was buying blundstones, they didn’t have the regular one in my size. So the sales associate told me to just buy the winter ones (she said the only difference was they had sheepskin sole in them but I could just swap out the sole). So that’s what I did, immediately took out those sheepskin soles and put in the regular ones that came with it.

The two problems are my feet sweat insanely in them. I used to have a pair of Blundstones and they were the regular one and I wore them in summer and haven’t experienced this amount of sweating.

The other problem is the shoe is extremely slippery, I mean dangerously so. They are supposed to be my rain shoes, and are great for that. But once some rain was frozen over and these blundstones on ice oh no! they made me fall flat on my face!

Now I’m wondering whether they are so warm bc they’re the winter ones even though the sales associate told me it’d make no difference. So now I’m stuck with shoes that are too warm for summer/fall, that I can’t wear in winter cause they’re too slippery! Perfect. Any advice? Clarifications? Prayers?

Reopening of PEQ - Processing Times or Moving for EE

Hey everyone! It is my first time posting here so I hope I do it right. Just found out about this sub and hoping someone can give me advice.

I’ve lived in Montreal for 11 years, and outside Quebec for 1 year before that. I have been a student all this time (Bachelor-Master’s) and have been on study permits. I am Turkish btw.

After graduation, I got my PGWP which expires in May 2027. I was about to apply for PEQ - Diplômés before they closed it. They reopened it on July 5 2026, and I applied that day.

However, since this is a reopening, they are unable to provide timelines for the processing. And I have 10 months left on my work permit.

Will they actually be accepting people? And in how long? I find no information regarding this. And I do have an immigration consultant but she also cannot say how long it will take. And it seems a bit unsure with the upcoming provincial elections (if there will be any changes once again to the program under the new government).

Do you think they will actually accept people into PEQ and in how long? Do I just move out of Quebec and move to Ontario and do EE? For that, I would start applying to jobs in Toronto starting now.

Oh and also I had my conjoint de fait partner as a back up for sponsorship but we just broke up so now I have no safety net in case PEQ doesn’t work out in time.

What do you suggest?

The vet accidentally squirted part of cat’s vaccine onto my face

I think I have the worst luck bc such a weirdly funny thing happened.
My cat gets very nervous at the vet and she was trying to hold him to give his vaccine and I was close by in case she needed help.
She decided to move the cat backpack to the floor and give him the vaccination there but in the process accidentally squirted the vaccination onto my face.
I thought it went in my eye, thankfully it didn’t, just on the left side of my face. She gave me needle with water to rinse out my eye and wet napkins to clean my face. And was apologizing a lot.
The vaccine was FVRV-FCV-FPV Vaccine, MLV.
I feel like that side of my face feels a bit tight but I’m also overthinking it now and getting worried. There was no open wound and I think it didn’t make it into my eye at all.
I did ask my mom who’s a doctor and she said I’ll be fine and get some irritation on the skin if anything. But I have anxiety so it’s hard not to worry! Can anything realistically happen or I’m good? This is so weird right? Do you guys think the vet should have been more careful?
