Blundstone from Toast

Blundstone from Toast

Hi team,

Looking to buy my first pair from this website

Are they the same as the classic brown or vintage brown?

I'm not sure the style from the original website

Are you able to help? Also trying to decide between these or the rustic ones

Care tips for a newbie?

Hi friends, I just bought my first pair! The person at the store was pushing the “care kit” VERY hard on me (commission-based sale) but I’m wondering if anyone can provide tips as to what specific products would be best for the smooth leather that I got? Would the Blundstone care kit have made sense for this type of leather? Should I be putting something on the leather before the first wear? No clue what I’m doing so thought I’d ask the experts here! 🫶🏻🖤

Four years of almost daily use vs. brand new

I've had my 585s for just gone four years now and they have been the best footwear I've ever owned. In the past, I've gone through lots of different boots (for a lot of different sums of money) and gotten max, a year of good use out of them before some kind of—at best—repair was needed or—at worst—replacement.

I can't believe how well my 585s have lasted after four years of almost daily use commuting, bushwalking, gardening, house repairing etc. I'm particularly impressed with how well the heel has held up as this was the part that usually failed first on all my other boots.

When my socks started getting a little damper than usual, I was very sad to find a small hole in the leather where it upper meets the midsole (right about where the toes flex).

But it's not a permanent goodbye, for they will be officially reassigned to gardening and other odds and ends around the home.

My new pair of 585s are so...I dunno...crisp and firm compared to my old pair. I can't wait to break them in and give them the same character my beloved old pair earned.

Anyone tried the Redback Whistlers? Looks like a rip-off of the Blundstone 1306 but are still Australian-made with better cushioning and inner lining.

Scratch on brand new boots

Edit:

Thanks everyone for your advice. I understand it is superficial, it just didn't look "natural" like the rest of the scuffs. Yes they are brand new out of the box. The soles were untouched. I'll be having fun making a mess out of them regardless. Will buy a conditioning kit next time I'm in the city. Appreciate everyone's comments!

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble getting hold of Blundstone (I'll try calling tomorrow). This scratch was there straight out of the box. I love the boots, but I'm wondering if there's any way to make it blend in more and look like normal wear rather than an obvious scratch. I'm running out of time before an event, so returning them and hoping for a better pair isn't ideal. I think if the mark followed the natural lines of the leather it probably wouldn't bother me as much.

Cat-piss Boots

Hey legends,

Bit of a weird one, so enjoy.

I live rurally where wild cats are common and I've made the mistake of not sitting my (brand new) boots upside on the shoerack. A cat, smelling my masculine, shitey boot stank has decided to spray them. Holy fuck do they reek now.

I tossed the insoles, and tried bicarb in the boot but the smell won't go away. Does anyone know a good way to save this pair? Obviously machine washing my Rotoflex 9020s is a poor idea, please help.
