Boot restoration

Hey Reddit, I'm looking at buying these boots for a decent price and having a crack at restoring them. I want to see if you think any kind of restoration is actually possible though before purchasing. I know I won't be able to get them like new, but I'd actually prefer for them to look a bit worn.

British washing detergent

Just posting out of pure curiosity as the following is something that surprised me with my Vinted purchases.

As an Australian who's been loving Vinted, I have an observation that I noticed as soon as my first order arrived from the UK: the washing detergent in the UK smells so different from here! It's a scent that I've never smelt before, and appears to be the same (or very similar) with nearly all of the dozens of items that I've now received.

It's not an issue as I'm just pre-soaking everything now before washing, but I'm wondering if I only find it strong because it's so unfamiliar? Is there a certain brand that is ubiquitous in the UK? Have any of you noticed a similar thing with orders from Aus?

Coat suggestions?

I live in a cold area of Victoria where it's quite windy and rainy, and am looking to buy a nice coat that's more fashionable than my Patagonia Torrent shell. In saying that, I'm looking for something that will last and be somewhat "timeless" as I don't plan to replace it whenever I next change. the rest of my wardrobe. I realise this will inevitably mean it's not going to be the most fashionable piece right now, but want it to be fashionable enough.

For context, with Vinted arriving in Australia, I'm currently restyling my "professional" teacher wardrobe from slim-fitting button-ups, chinos, RMs, and sweaters to a more relaxed and casual fit of straight jeans/chinos/pants, sneakers, and t-shirts with some combination of overshirt, knit sweater or jacket (see the comments for the idea of what I'm going for).

My top contender I've found is the Driza-Bone Vintage Wax Mac Coat in navy. I like the simple look of this and the idea of a proven Australian brand.

Edit: looking for something that can act like a shell (similar to my Torrentshell) in the sense that I can layer it over a sweater/knit but take it off when I come inside and still be warm. Thinking even the Driza-Bone I'm looking at could be too warm but I'm not sure

What is this pillow?

Hi all, does anyone recognise this pillow? I believe it's from Kmart, but could have been from target. It's super comfy like a memory foam, but with more spring (maybe some type of firm latex). They don't seem to make it anymore, but it'd be good to figure out what the fill is to help me choose my next pillow.
