Stand alone AHK, AHKv2 projects?

At first I just needed AHK to provide mouse and keyboard inputs for other software. Then it occurred to me that since AHK can take input and provide output there's a wide variety of simple programs and tasks that it could solve without any underlying software, working entirely on it's own.

So do people do this? Is there a repository somewhere? I mean there are surely better alternatives, better languages, but AHK requires no development environment, no compiler, and it's language is pretty straightforward for the simple stuff.

A lesser beacon. A beacon for the rest of us.

First off, these beacons don't give a status effects, just a light beam.

Their main purpose will be to produce the iconic beam of light that's been lacking in so many worlds because, let's face facts, most of us are never going to kill a wither.

The crafting of the beacon block itself would substitute a diamond (or maybe diamond block) in place of the wither star.

The pyramid would be constructed entirely out of a single type of block and in consideration of their complete lack of powers, they'll be able to be constructed out of lesser materials like copper blocks, ice blocks, redstone blocks or lapis blocks or even polished stone. The material will determine the base color of the beam unless altered by a filter.

Maybe some minor beacon effect could be available to pyramids constructed of better materials (redstone/lapis). such as providing bright light or night vision.

Auto Rotate to horizontal features in a photo? (looking for plugin)

I take product photos. A lot of photos. I try to take them perfectly but I'm often off by a few degrees and although it's probably close enough, it still bugs me. I know I can make fine adjustments manually but I'd like a plugin that does it automatically.

You see, my photos most often have bold horizontal text or similar horizontal lines that it would be (as far as I know) sort of easy to derive a horizon from. Then all that is left to be done is automatically rotate the photo to match that horizon, so everything is perfectly level (and not ever so slightly tilted).

I'm looking for a plugin that will find this horizon and rotate the photo automatically. I don't think that one exists and maybe this is a bit in the area of requiring AI. But I just installed a AI background remover plugin and it works great (if not a bit slow on my Win10 hunk) and aligning a photo based on an easily observable trait seems a lot less complicated.

A player created IRON GOLEM shouldn't wander off

For for purposes of this post, this pertains only to iron golems created by the player.

An iron golem is an expensive piece of equipment to build and status-quo, it's movement is unpredictable and often undesirable. It's likely to wander the peaks of a nearby mountains, trap itself in a steep canyon, or submerge itself permanently in the nearest ocean or maybe frolic uselessly in a nearby meadow.

  • An iron golem created by the player should wander no further than, let's say, 16 blocks from where it spawned.
  • It's spawn can be reset by moving it with a leash.
  • A name tagged golem will have no movement restrictions.

I know that you can leash a golem to keep it in one place but leashes are ugly and leashes can break.

Micro SD card acting weird

I have this old SD card that's acting weird. It just has a bunch of photos from one of my old Android phones. Nothing all that important.

When I put the card in it is recognized immediately and I can navigated the file system. I can open some of the photos, but some seem to be corrupted, at least partially, maybe... Thumbnails are slow to load or don't load at all. If a slideshow, then the next photo take a while to load, maybe 5-10 seconds, if it loads at all. After a while it's like my PC just gets frustrated with the whole situation and produces a fatal error and dismounts the drive. If I pull the card out and reinsert it, I'm right back to where I started.

The card reader appears to be working fine. I tested it with another card full of mp3s and it has no problems reading it. This particular problem card, the one with the photos has just been sitting in my desk drawer for years in a ziplock bag (with other cards), and even in it's little protective plastic case.

I would think that the memory on these cards would be pretty stable, but I've been wrong before.

Aside, is there an app that can correct corrupted photos? Assuming that's what is going on.

Keep hunger, eliminate the hunger bar

Just what the title says. Eliminate the on screen hunger bar while not changing game play at all. Hunger still exists as always, you just don't see the meter. You don't need to see the meter.

As far as everyday Minecraft is concerned, the hunger bar is simply not needed. You can tell when you are hungry. If your regeneration halts, you need to eat. If you can't sprint, you really need to eat. If you're literally starving, then you've missed some fairly obvious signs, but nothing to worry about, just eat some readily accessible food. If it's not already in your inventory, it's pretty easy to find.

The only problem I see is communicating this to new player initially. But hey, no one ever told told us to punch a tree. We just figured it out. Maybe hunger is like that.

Is this change necessarily necessary? No. But I'm sure we could find something better to do with the screen space.

A sitting dog should growl at ememies

Your dogs is loyal. Your dog protects you. It's just what dogs do. Dogs are also much more sensitive to their environment than people are. Dogs sense things that people can't.

I'm not suggesting any changes to dogs that are on the move, although I could, there's plenty of room for improvement. But when a dog is set to "sit or "stay" it shouldn't just shut down completely. That's not how dogs work. Its most basic instinct would be to detect threats and protect you. Since it can't protect when "sat" it could at least alert you to nearby danger with a unique bark or growl.

No "bluetooth" branding on "wireless" headphones WH-CH520

My wife bought a pair of Sony "wireless" headphones online. They were advertised as being Bluetooth. When they got here there was no visible Bluetooth logo or branding or any obvious mention of Bluetooth on the box. Based upon this absence I was somewhat skeptical as to if these were "real" and/or Bluetooth but apparently they are legit Sony Bluetooth headphones.

So my question is why are they pushing them as simply "wireless" and burying Multipoint Bluetooth connectivity. They are strictly wireless, no audio-in jack, so there's that, but I'd still expect to see some legit Bluetooth branding on a legit Bluetooth product.

How about a boat for the skies? A glider.

It's not that. It's a vehicle like a boat. You craft it and it goes in your inventory. Then you can place it, mount it, and walk off a cliff with no fall damage (unless you crash) and a finite amount of glide. I'm unnecessarily over-thinking it, so 4 tiers of glider each giving superior glide.

  • Top tier - 3 crafted from bamboo and 6 phantom membrane, 16:1 glide ratio.
  • 2nd tier - sticks and phantom membrane, 12:1.
  • 3rd tier - bamboo and leather 8:1.
  • 4th tier - sticks and leather 4:1.

The constructed glider will occupy a 3x1 space. 3x2 with a player attached.

A gilder will achieve roughly the same ground speed as running. Faster vertically while in a dive, slower horizontally at level flight. You can steer it (left/right) and you can flare, but you can't flare past level flight and level flight can't be maintained as it causes a loss of speed, and no, you can't use fireworks. A glider will accumulate damage through collisions and hard landings, not normal use. When a glider breaks, it drops nothing.

Meyer Lemon Tree and perfect green lemons? normal?

We're in south Florida so it's almost always warm and either sunny or raining here. This tree was about 6' tall when we bought it and it has been in the ground, outdoors, for about a year. Up until recently it would sporadically produce a lemon, that would, for one reason or another, not fully mature. Fast forward to today, it's not much taller but is producing lemons like crazy. There's probably a few dozen hanging right now. Problem is that they all look like perfect little limes. They're lime green and seem to want to stay that way. No hint of yellowing yet. Is this normal?

Maps and compasses should work better together.

You have an explorer map, or a treasure map. You hold it in your hand. You try to make sense of which way to travel. You eventually reach your destination, but only if you are able to a) determine which way is North and b) determine where you are in relation to the destination and c) figure out which way you need to go. There's nothing inherently wrong with this system except that it's not at all user friendly. A lot of people have trouble with this.

Now, with both a map and a compass in your hot bar, the compass will automatically point to the destination. It makes sense because it should be easier to navigate with both a map and a compass than with just a map.,

In conjunction with this, a loadstone compass can be linked to a previously framed explorer/treasure map. The loadstone compass now points to the destination. Once linked, you could leave the map safely at home and easily navigate to your destination.
