Front Collision Sensor- does not stay off

Front Collision Sensor- does not stay off

Two years ago when I got my 2024 Lyriq Lux 1, I discovered that it would constantly slam on the brakes as I drove up the narrow canyon road to my house. Once I learned I could turn off the auto brake function and just get an alert, everything was fine.

Two weeks ago I got a 2026 Lyriq Sport, and the first thing I did was to put the Forward Collision Avoidance setting onto "Alert" only. I thought that was the end of it.

As it turns out, the car reverts this setting back to "Alert and Brake" everytime the car is turned off. And yes, I learned this the hard way as it slammed on the brakes while driving home.

Is there a setting to make the "Alert" only setting permanent, until otherwise manually changed?

Thanks!

2024 Lyriq Lux 1 Emerald Lake- just turned in

I just turned in my 2024 Lyriq Lux 1, Emerald Lake exterior with the very light blue interior. 21,623 miles. It's a great car and I had no problems with it. Car is in mint condition.

If anyone is looking to buy a car like this, I turned it into the Pasadena, California, Cadillac dealer... though they said they would not be buying it for their inventory (Beverly Hills Cadillac also said they would not buy it because of the price).

If you want to track the VIN, it's 1GYKPPRLXRZ127237.

If the buyout number wasn't so far above market value I would have bought it, but GM Financial won't negotiate... so I assume it'll end up at an auction.

Looks like I'll be driving the Defender for a little while until more Lyriq inventory comes in... dealers are not cutting deals right now here in SoCal.

Looking for next Lyriq

Hi all, the lease on my 2024 Lyriq Lux 1 AWD is up on July 19. It's been a great car (my first EV), and while I could go down to just one car (a Defender), I'd like to lease another Lyriq.

Does anyone have leads on dealerships with great deals on the car? I'm open to a 2026 loaner.

I can pull the trigger now, or wait until I'm closer to the turn-in date. Might deals become better mid-summer as we get closer to the 2027s rolling out, or will high gas prices make the car more in-demand? I'm in SoCal....

And out of curiosity, has anyone extended the lease on their car? I'd only extend it if I could get another year.

Thanks!

Lease check on 2026 MINI Countryman - California- $2290 DAS - 12k miles/yr

Hi All, I have a friend that is close to pulling the trigger on a MINI lease. I've attached the numbers she was given. I looked at the money factor (0.0022) and residual (61%) in Leasehackr, and it seems to be correct (actual BMW rate). I've asked if she can get a breakdown of the DAS number, and am recommending that she go with a 36 month lease versus a 39 month lease.

Anything else that we should be aware of? It seems like a decent deal (in California), but always love hearing what others have to say. Thanks so much.
