I would love to see an animated Dinotopia reboot.
Does anyone know if James Gurney still has the rights, or if any media groups do?

Hi all,
As a mod, I wanted to share why we don't allow our members to use the term "rage bait" in posts.
One of our sacred rules is that we don't attack readers for what they are reading. And "rage bait" basically says someone is a liar and couldn't possibly like that book because you didn't like that book.
That is why we don't allow it.
Sometimes people are being funny, but they don't realize forum posts aren't really a great way to communicate humor. So if you want to be funny, use an animated GIF or something to show you are joking around. Or end your post with something that reinforces that.
What you don't see is all the posts we have to remove and people we have to ban for using slurs, curse words, and other personal attacks against someone who liked a book they didn't, or disliked a book they think is the best.
Or readers who think that because they didn't like book x, people who did are a lower class of readers, less intelligent, or belong to a certain demographic. It is repulsive, and we will ban you so that you can spend more time smelling your own farts.
I just wanted to share that, as we had a bunch of complaints after a tier list went viral this weekend 😂

Hi everyone,
We are looking to add 2 to 3 new moderators to help us keep our community healthy and respectful. If you are interested, please apply here:

It doens't have to be every day, even if you can just scan some comments to ensure everyone is treating each other with respect when you are on Reddit, that is a help 🙂
Thanks!
I loved There is No Antimemetics Division by qntm :)
Anyone got any good recs?
I haven't read The Luminious Dead, is it as good as people say?

Epic ride near Sort, Spain, in the Pyrenees. It was a tough gravel climb, and my hardest ever.
83km ride, 1,927m, and hit records for my all-time biggest climb and biggest elevation day. Now I'm going to eat a pizza or two 😊
I highly recommend the Pyrenees for a bike trip; Puigcerdà is a great base, but the Sort, Spain area is as well.
If you want a copy of the route, please copy it in next week, as it will eventually get removed:
P.S., my bike is https://caminade.eu/ and highly recommend them if you want a custom titanium frame, they did a stellar job and I love my bike :)

Our Reddit community is trying something new!
The first 10 people to upvote, comment, and DM me get a free copy; just send me your email in the DM so I know where to send it 🙂.
This is something new we are trying for our community! We want to help readers discover some cool books by new authors who aren't as well known as the big names. And help authors at the same time.
What do readers say about this book?
Fun fact!
There's a lot of sword fighting in this series, and Paula got expert advice from a Historical European Martial Arts expert and watched a LOT of HEMA videos. She also bought a genuine HEMA training sword from an armory in Ukraine to learn some basics (solo training). :)
Details on some of the sword-fighting training here and how that impacted fight scenes:

What is the book about?
A warrior. A runaway. A kingdom on the brink of war. When heresy rises, who will survive the power shift?
Life is meant to be simple in Amadea: worship Verus, obey her prophet, and serve the king.
But heresy is taking root in the kingdom, sprung from the writings of a mad prophet. It threatens to inflame tensions with neighboring Pyrie, whose border attacks and slave uprisings continue to rob the kingdom of peace.
Tristan has no interest in heresies. But when the warrior finds Sabine on the side of the road – starving, beaten and all too ready to resort to violence – his life becomes increasingly complicated.
In the capital, the Thirteenth Prophet has sensed a change in the sacred flame, the source of his prophetic power, and he engages an ambitious warrior to help find the heretics.
Sabine and Tristan find themselves allied with heretics out of loyalty, not belief. Their bonds to those they love, and their growing attraction to each other, will be tested in ways neither of them sees coming.
The Shadow of the Eagle is the first book in The Children of Verus Trilogy, an epic fantasy series that explores how dehumanizing an enemy corrupts the soul of a society, and the ways in which those involved justify their hatred. It’s also about the nature of loyalty, love, faith and friendship.

Enjoy 🙂
I'd love to get some more testers giving me feedback as we build this app.
It is like Goodreads but private and personalized to your taste.
We are testing imports from Goodreads and StoryGraph now, and should have those ready for testers in a few weeks.
Then we will add folders so you can organize everything how your brain works :).
If you want to help me beta test, just DM me.
Here are the authors who shared theirs in the images:

I used the scene and quiet route types, and they routed me on about 3km where I had to carry my bike over 2 to 3 foot boulders for 50% and otherwise hike it rolling.
I just want to warn people, as these route types are not working well and there is no detail on what they are routing you on.
I'd love to get map details, where it shows what that trail is rated, or what material it is. The pictures help, but I never imagined for a gravel cycling ride it would put me on something so impossible to ride :)
I've used Komoot for years and can't figure it out...
I use it to plan trips and beyond a satellite view where I'm trying to decode it every 200 feet, where is this overlay?
I've read all the popular sci-fi and fantasy, so I'm looking for things I might not have heard of. Or, if you have an off the wall recommendation :)
I've read a ton of the top books on this site:

And I'd love to get some suggestions!
