I got this for my birthday and im trying to figure out how to work it into a list.
How are these being played? (Im aware they are very much not meta) Do people park it in their own deployment zone or use the drop pod detachment to give it deepstrike. Heavy bolters or flamers?
Also it's free overwatch. Is that with Just the heavybolters or with everything.
So I'm coming up with lore for a custom chapter that turns renegade but hasn't turned to chaos. They are the "defenders of rylox" with rylox being their homeworld (name suggestions would be appreciated)
The idea is that they've been fighting chaos forces on rylox and when the inquisition turns up they order an exterminatus. The defenders tell them to get bent and the inquisitor tries to have his grey Knights fight attack the defenders but the grey Knights get decimated and then the defenders are declared traitors.
How many grey Knights is it reasonable for a space marine chapter to be able to kill. Cause I've been thinking about it and it occurs to me that grey Knights aren't actually experienced at fighting in large numbers. Even fighting at a company level the grey Knights captain probably has only commanded them a handful of times at best and they don't have the heavy fire power other chapters have. They're only advantage is teleportation, psychic powers, and terminator armour. Which every space marine chapter would have experience dealing with.
So how many grey Knights would you guys would think it's reasonable for a custom chapter to beat
It's occurred to me as i was looking at Titus's command squad, but if company heroes could be attached to another squad alongside the captain, they'd actually be worth taking far more often.
I could see a few scenarios where it could be OP but with the right nerfs to company heroes to balance it i think company heroes could be reasonably powerful/useful without becoming game breaking.
