New Addition

Got this kitty cat pendant from Yokdee. I am hoping to make a necklace from it. (See photo 5 for the necklace/chocker)

Please let me know what you think.

I love cat related stone carving. Last picture is of my other cat rocks. The black one is made out of Onyx from Mexico and the green one is of green aventurine.

New Bangle. Need Opinions.

Hello everyone! This is my first time buying jade, and I’m still very new to learning about it. I did so some research on how its graded and how to check authenticity at home.

I wanted to connect more with my cultural roots, so I decided I’d love to own at least one or two jadeite pieces. Since I live in the West, I found it difficult to locate beginner-friendly jade sellers near me. I contacted several family-owned jewelry stores, but many of the pieces they carried appeared to be treated jadeite.

After doing some research, I found a seller with great reviews and decided to take the chance. This is the bangle I purchased!

I’d love to hear your honest opinions. Based on its appearance and specifications, how much would you personally pay for something like this? I’ve also included a video of the sound test (edit: sorry i couldnt upload the video), although I understand that the sound alone cannot confirm whether jadeite is natural or untreated.

I’ll include all the measurements, weight, seller description, and other specifications below. Thank you for helping a beginner learn!

Sellers Note:

Note:

There is no crack in the bangle.

Hey everyone! I recently inherited some of my mom’s jewelry collection, and along with it came about 23g of broken gold pieces ranging from 10k, 14k, and 22k gold. Some are chains, some are random broken bits, and a few still have stones in them.

I’m pretty sentimental, and since I just got engaged, I was wondering if it’s possible to melt/reuse the gold and turn it into a new custom piece — ideally maybe a men’s gold wedding band.

I know the different karats complicate things, so I’m curious:

- Is this realistically something jewelers can do?

- Would they refine everything down first?

- Is 23g enough material for a solid men’s band?

- Is it usually worth it financially vs. just trading the gold in?

I’m in the SoCal area, so if anyone knows reputable jewelers, goldsmiths, or custom jewelry places that work with heirloom gold/remodeling projects, I’d really appreciate recommendations or advice on what the process is usually like.

Would love to preserve some of the sentimental value instead of just selling it off. Thanks!
