Sideloaded ABRP - Fail to log in

I managed to successfully sideload ABRP onto my car's modified Android (edit:) 12 system (DiLink 5 on a BYD Sealion 7). The app launches and runs perfectly fine.

The issue I'm running into is logging into my ABRP account. The login process tries to load a webpage (likely using Android WebView?), but this library seems to be blocked by the car's OS.

Does anyone know if there's a way to log in directly within the app without it trying to open a browser/webpage? For example, generating a login QR code natively in the app UI? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!

Edit / Update: Solution found! You need to install an older version that doesn't use the WebView login first (version 6.1.9 worked perfectly for me). Once you're logged in, you can simply update to the latest version. Huge thanks to u/djnfranca for the tip!

Sealion 7: Dashcam in Europe

More than a year ago, there was already a discussion about the OEM dashcam for the Sealion 7 in Europe (and other markets), because the pre-installed cable is missing in many markets and in Europe even the connections on the MCU are missing. See here: https://www.reddit.com/r/BYD/comments/1mrqtl2/sealion_7_oem_dashcam/

Result:

  • Most countries: The OEM dashcam works plug & play.
  • Some countries (Australia etc.): the cable to the MCU is missing; if the cable is retrofitted, the OEM dashcam works plug & play.
  • Europe: The connection on the MCU is missing on a hardware level.

Since the Sealion 7 has become very popular in Europe in the meantime and is sold much more frequently than a year ago: Are there any sensible solutions for using a dashcam in the Sealion 7 integrated as cleanly as possible (preferably in the original housing). Nice to have: Usable via the center screen.

My ideas on this:

  • Retrofitting (soldering) the hardware connector in the MCU. -> Use of the OEM dashcam and center screen, like in all other countries.
  • An extra device (e.g., in the mirror cover) that powers the OEM dashcam (e.g. via the rain sensor) intercepts and saves the signal from the OEM dashcam. -> Use of the OEM dashcam, but not the center screen.
  • Third-party dashcam that fits into the housing of the OEM dashcam (I was once in contact withhttps://fitcamx.com/about this, which fizzled out; even though there was interest on their part, I didn't want to send the housing to China).

Ask: Has anyone of you found an elegant solution for the (preferable: OEM) dashcam in the Sealion 7 in Europe yet?
