Hello! I need to know if anybody else’s incision looked like this at one week postop ulnar shortening osteotomy and/or if this looks and seems normal! I think it looks way too bunched up and uneven. Trying to figure out if my surgeon just did a bad job or if something’s wrong. I do have hEDS so healing is naturally worse. I’m also concerned about the bottom part of it. It looks red and irritated and there’s more dried blood than the rest. For comparison, I also added a pic of what it looked like yesterday (2nd pic), 2 days ago (3rd pic), and 3 days ago (4th pic).

I have trochlear dysplasia. Basically the part of my femur that is supposed to be shaped like a V to hold the knee cap in place isn’t shaped correctly so instead of being a V it just kinda slopes off to the side on one side. So the inside of my knee has no bony structure holding the knee cap in place. That’s what both the picture shows and what the doctor told me. We found it cause I dislocated it from falling and landing directly on top of only that the knee onto concrete from about 2 feet up & it was still swollen a year later. It’s never been the same. I have a brace that forces it to the right so it stays in place, which does help, though I don’t wear it all the time especially cause I’m about to have wrist surgery so that would look awful haha. In the 1st pic it shows my knee cap at the top (also shaped kinda weird) then the femur under it. The top of the femur is what’s supposed to be a V. Not sure what the white line is. The 2nd pic is what he showed me of a normal knee in the same view.

Has anyone dealt with this? I’ve done plenty of PT it doesn’t really help. It’s not a dire problem at the moment but the Dr said the only real way to fix it is surgery to reshape the bone or something. I was just thinking about it cause my knee was killing me over the weekend.
