Optics for 45-70
I'm shooting 17 yards. What optics do you guys recommend for my 1854 stealth hunter 45-70?

Just finished cleaning up my M4 and noticed this dent on one of the rails. Is this something I should be concerned about? It cycles smooth inside the receiver. I've been using G96 complete gun treatment for the life of the M4. The bottom of the bolt carrier and rails has been the areas I've been applying the G96.
What are you guys using for 45-70 lever action? I just got my Smith & Wesson 1854 Stealth Hunter 45-70. Love the thing. Want to get a cleaning kit for it. I already have G96 CLP. I don't know what bore size brush to get. Any help would be greatly appreciated 😁
Just noticed these scratch marks. Is this something to be concerned about? Have no idea how I got these scratches. It's on the bottom of the barrel
Does anyone know what products I can buy in Canada to clean plastic fouling? I've tried break free and g96 CLP. Nothing is works. Hopefully someone can help me out. The plastic fouling isn't bad... But I'd like to clean it.
It's getting close to summer. Who else needs their engine bay cleaned? I just wiped whatever I could with a damp rag. Nothing amazing though... It does need a bit more of a clean though. Is steam cleaning the engine bay going to remove the clear Honeyseal wax product on the metal bits? It's sort of the reason why the metal areas I just used water and a rag to clean. Don't wanna remove the product.
Honest question... When doing maintenance, is it a bad thing to over oil? Last time I did any sort of cleaning was a year ago. I oiled inside the receiver rails where the bolt carrier slides back and forth. I also oiled the bottom of the bolt carrier where it slides inside the receiver. After 150 rounds through it, I've noticed a lot carbon build up happening. I'm seeing it on the argo pistons as well when I look inside. Hopefully it's not an issue. I'll be cleaning her up and oiling tomorrow after the range.
Was installing the handguard and scratched the barrel coating slightly. Is this enough for the barrel to start corroding? I applied a little bit of CLP on the scratches. Just not sure how durable the coating really is.
