Ofc we as a generation are addicted to texting AI
We grew up watching a show where the bestfriend of a young boy was a robot (yes DORAEMON that's you)

Right now while writing this article I am sitting in my "ancestral maternal home" (Nani Ka Gaon ka Ghar) in a small village of Rajasthan
It's sunset time peace all around can hear Tarak Mehta Ka Oolta Chasma being played on some TV nearby, nothing else
Sunlight is there still i can see stars in the sky, that's something different. I went to a small river yesterday and accidentally lost my crocs there
But all in all i really loved the experience apart from an ugly fact i saw , the orthodox nature of people around me. From casual misogyny to caste to religion debates to my sister being told "Ghar ke kaam to ladkiyo ko karne hii chahiye."
(girls need to do household chores)
That line stayed with me a bit longer than it really should have , a question popped into my head
WHY AM I FEELING DISCOMFORT AND SLIGHT ANGER LISTENING TO THIS ?
WHY AM I NOT ACCEPTING THEIR LINE OF THOUGHT?
WHAT GAVE ME AN INDIPENDENT THOUGHT PROCESS?
That was 2 days ago , now i am writing this
Accepting a fact I still don't want to
ENGLISH IS THE REASON MOST OF US ARE NOT STUCK IN THE SAME OLD PROBLEMATIC MINDSET.
How can an alien language imposed onto us by some invaders and looters , a language that can't even decide what spellings to use , which changes pronunciations and phonetics as per it's mood , which frankly obeys no logic be the LIBERATOR or the MESSIAH here?
I don't like this.
But then it gave us something way bigger , the key to a new world locked away by a language barrier
We all grew up watching friends, how I met your mother , office etc. . Watching Hollywood movies like mean girls , 10 things I hate about you , perks of being a wallflower. YouTubers like PewDiePie, Mr.Beast , Logan Paul , Captin Sparkels , MLBHD etc.
Reading books by Rohald Dahl , Jeff Kinney (Author of Diary of a Wimpy kid), Rick Riordan(author of Percy Jackson book series)
They showed the little DARSH a world he had never seen before , gave him curiosity to understand and explore this world
Before moving forward let's sidetrack for a bit .
Answer this question
WHY HAVE WE PREFERRED DEBATES ALL THROUGHOUT HISTORY AND WE STILL DO ?
Cause they give us reasoning and facts behind two opposite thoughts and let us the viewer decide what we think is right.
They don't impose a single thought onto us , they let us decide.
Okay now coming back to the main topic
English gave us the key to a world vastly different than ours , introduced us and made us explore ideas vastly different than the ideas we were being taught.
And once you are exposed to different ideas, something interesting happens.
You start questioning.
You start comparing.
You start thinking for yourself.
You begin asking whether these ideas are truly part of our culture, or merely stains that somehow found their way onto the cloth of Indian culture.
Therefore,
THANK YOU ENGLISH.
Thank you for giving us the key to explore and understand the world as it truly is.
Not by imposing anything upon us.
Not by forcing us to abandon who we are.
But by doing something much more powerful
Giving us access to alternative viewpoints, alternative ideologies, and alternative ways of thinking.
And once a person learns how to think, how to question, and how to explore ideas beyond the boundaries of their immediate surroundings, there is no going back.
The greatest gift English gave us was not vocabulary.
It was perspective.
