training in Boston + NYC

I want to take a trip to Boston and NYC for my 40th.

I am debating between a solo trip and inviting some girlfriends.
My main goals are see some cool sites, eat allllllllllllllll the food, visit Salem MA, and run through Central Park.

Ideally, I would find a great place to train while I am there. I am one of only 3 women in my home gym, so very comfortable training with men, but would also love to experience training with only women.

I've never been to either city (I live in a town of less than 3000) so I am open to all recommendations!

Finding a new home as a Couple

I've been looking at our maps trying to find a good place for us for family, community, career, and abundance. We actaully met on my IC Sun, which is also fairly close to his Jupiter MC. I feel like I have a lot of stuff going on in middle America, but zero desire to live there. I am interested in Central/South America, but where I would most like to relocate (Europe) seems not to hold much potential based on our maps.

I'm looking for areas that may suit both of us -- wondering your opinions?!

First Comp weight

I signed up for my first comp, coming up in 8 days.

No-gi limit is 169, today I weighed in at 170.6.

I know 1.6 pounds is nothing, considering my period is coming in the next 1-2 days, and last weekend was Independence Day with a lot of holiday feasting.

today is the last day to change divisions, and the next division is open weight, which I don’t want to do.

what would you do over the next week to ensure you make weight?

Can this be fixed?

washed my white gi a few times and it looks like this 😫

I even cleaned out the washing machine and it still seems to come out worse each time.

is there anything I can do to fix and prevent in the future? (other than never buy a white gi!)

8yo son’s plantar wart

we have been treating this since February. tried duct tape to start but we just can’t get a piece to stay on this part of his foot.

we’ve used oregano oil, which I used to successfully get rid of a wart in my leg a few years back. these plantar warts are much more stubborn.

then we tried salicylic acid which didn’t seem to do anything.

next we tried urine therapy, which actually was helping! I couldn’t believe it actually did something!

but he didn’t want to do that anymore, so we went back to alternating SA & oregano oil.

our biggest issue is the kid wants to do it all himself. I can get him to try to pick away at some of the top layer, but he won’t let me work on cutting it back. kid also does NOT want to go to the doctor

anyone have advice on dealing with warts in stubborn kids??
