Is a diagnosis of diastolic dysfunction grade 2 “heart failure”?

I found it in my chart today - from an echo done two years ago after an episode of SVT that required adenosine. I was going to have an ablation, but got pregnant (with twins). The twins are 14 months now, and I’ve recently become increasingly symptomatic. I have another echo scheduled, as well as a stress test and the ep study with ablation.

Have i had untreated heart failure for two years…through a pregnancy? Have i had heart failure since i was 37?

What to ask doc before my ablation?

I was supposed to have one two years ago and ended up pregnant (with twins!). Had another episode of SVT this last February.

Finally seeing my EP today. And we will be scheduling the ablation.

What do I need to ask? I’m a floor nurse and a clinical instructor, and have seven kids (ages 1-11).

I’m precepting a student this summer and then go straight into the semester, so I’d really like to not be off work long…especially since my preceptee is competent and will be doing most of the work under my supervision, but as we all know, anything can happen. I’m also the charge on a floor full of nurses with less than a year of experience, for full transparency.

What do I need to ask about recovery? Time off? Risks related to other health issues (obesity?) Hospital stay? What am I not even thinking to ask about?

Anything you wish you’d known?

39 F looking for daily health/fitness lock-in accountability (40 this summer)

Married. 7 kids. Nurse. Student. Professor. ~320 lbs, 5’6”. History of weight loss surgery. Lost 100 lbs, gained 70 back after *life* (and 5 post-op kids, including the last two - a set of twins).

Using Ladder app. Focusing on fiber and protein. Hydration.

Work weekends only, so gym Mon-Fri and meal prepping for work. Done it before, I’ll do it again.

What’s your spiel? You in?
