Advice for a devastated gamer

Budget: non existent
Country: USA
Use Case: Pure gaming, mostly minecraft but would love to get back into OW and other online games.
Preferred Specs: dgaf i’ve been gaming on a toaster.

Today, I opened my laptop to play good ole minecraft and noticed the screen acting funny. This is all I have after my PC pooped out. My laptop is a 2018 macbook pro, and the screen is officially cracked. Now i can’t do anything and I can only assume my saves are all gone. Honestly devastated and not sure where to go from here. Is it worth it to replace the screen on this already old laptop or am I resigned to angry birds and Slay the Spire mobile. Any advice? Coping strategies?

I can't remember much but there are a few details that stick out. I remember there is a creepy dad, an agoraphobic daughter who has a gaming livestream. What I remember is the dad would participate in the livestreams by sitting to the side and making commentary. Due to circumstances I can't remember, she disappears some of her community members contact the local police? There is a murder at some point that is covered up, I think the dad did it? I truly can't remember much and what I mentioned above is not the main plotline. It's been years but I know I'll recognize it when I see the title.
