“They fought repeatedly in thankless sieges and protracted suppression campaigns which demanded the might of the Legiones Astartes to secure victory, but which carried little renown.”

“For many Legions we are forced to wonder at how truest loyalty can be turned to treachery, purest devotion to hate, nobility to wickedness, but for the Night Lords we must ask if their hearts always belonged to darkness.”
I don’t care what anyone says about the new Night Lords, they’re my favorite traitor Legion next to the Iron Warriors and I’m SO happy they’re being made, I have an excuse to focus on practicing customizing now, too.

It was equally true of the Legion that once the battle had commenced, they would not relent from their attack for anytning save direct order from the highest level to withdraw, even though suffering sudden reversals of fortune or unexpectedly high -even staggering— casualties.”

“At Terra, Perturabo orchestrated the grandest siege Mankind would ever experience, with his sons spearheading the assault into the Sol System and laying waste to the defences of the Imperial Palace.”

“When he went into battle there were few foes worthy of death at the Lion’s hand, and only those that could prove by bloody defiance that they were worthy of his enmity would witness the true choler of the Lion.”
