AuDHD and chromebook use at school

We just had the end-of-the-year IEP meeting for my AuDHD (grade 3) son.

His lovely teacher mentioned that he struggles with perfectionism with his writing which causes him to complete class assignments very slowly.

The school team suggested allowing more use of a chromebook next year, so that he can complete assignments on a computer rather than by hand.

While I appreciate the proposed accommodation, and can see how this would accomplish the goal of making assignment completion 'easier'... I also worry that having him default to more screen use in the classroom does actually address the issue of his handwriting perfectionism.

Admittedly I am also generally wary of screen use in classrooms/life.. and I wonder if perhaps this is just my screen bias talking.

I would love to hear your thoughts. Is there an angle here that I am not considering? What sort of accommodations would you be advocating for in this situation

To add:: His school has been wonderful, and I have nothing but gratitude for how they've treated and accommodated my son over the years. I have no doubt that if I suggest an alternative accommodation, they will be supportive. I just don't know what that 'alternative' might be!

Arrived at LIS this morning at 7:15am for a British Airways (London Heathrow) flight at 11am.

The check in counters do not open until 3hrs before flight. The counters aren't labeled until they open so you won't know which check-in counter will be yours until it opens.

You have 2 options:: Watch the digital board and be ready to move when your check-in counter is assigned and open.

Or! BETTER YET- Find one of the airport employees in a light blue vest (they are walking around) and ask them where to go.

Our guy was able to tell us which counter we needed to wait at a full half an hour before the info was shared on the board. This enabled us to be one of the first in line.

He was also able to give help directions on where to go after check in for security screening, and passport control. This was valuable because the airport in general is very poorly signed and I can totally see how folks get confused.

- Check in (8am) w/ a checked bag was fast-- 10-15min.

- Quick walk to security screening, and a fast moving line- 10-15 min.

8:30am-- Passport control line was winding well into the food court, but it moved very fast. 30-40 minute wait and we were standing in front of a Passport Control agent.

All in all-- From check in to sitting at our gate- 1 hour.

It would have been significantly more stressful if we hadn't spoken with the helpful employee in the blue vest at the very beginning.

TL;DR-- Early flight. Arrive at least 3.5 hrs before. Immediately seek out an airport employee in a blue vest to find out which check in counter you should go to.

Happy travels!
