I'm stuck just dragging D-1 on a Hip Hop Sub legato note with Kickstarter on it and calling it a day - how do I make halftime with subs that don't suck?

Hello!

Subs elude me entirely, and when I get my low end right it's never on purpose. I understand their place in the mix (my eq8 defaults to a 200hz lowcut to be adjusted for taste), I (sorta) understand what you want out of a waveform to get that "fat sine" that the upscale boys and Mr. Bill use, but god, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to "marry" my subs, drums, and mid-basses in the arrangement. I know that there's no one "right way", but damn it if I don't keep discovering new wrong ones. If anybody has a specific example of a song that they can enthusiastically explain what makes the subs tick on, please hit me with it! Bonus points if it's some sort of glitch hop/halftime/something that utilizes lots of squelchy midbasses that don't make sense to just have a sub osc. following in serum or a fresh chain mono'd and lowpass'd

Do those without it literally fail to remember their favorite songs accurately?

Hello!

I have perfect pitch; an À is an A and an Ab is an Ab. That being said, before I just knew the notes as notes, in my childhood i correlated every note in 12TET with a song I knew. C was heart and soul, B and C# the two bass notes from Pink Floyd’s echoes, D was somebody i used to know…

…which makes me wonder, do people who don’t have perfect pitch not accurately recall their favorite music? I feel like you dont have to have hit the “critical development” phase to know that “Clo-sing tiiime” is D-B-B if you work at a bar that plays it nightly , right?

Is the “waiting room” somewhere you find yourself while still able to open your eyes on command? Also, do you ever have trips that are more “in the room” than in your head?

I definitely don’t think I’ve ever blasted off, I’ve seen people unresponsive for 5-10 and I’ve never been that…when I administer at home, I seem to cap out at this space where I’m inclined to but not forced to close my eyes and the geometry becomes a defined yet ever-shifting space that gains à conscience/prescience…but I’m not like, gone…and whenever I’ve had the absolute blessing to smoke DMT during a Tipper set, the trip was ENTIRELY external, like a crowd of 5000 people in front of me turning into ~20 titan forms, the dude in front of me standing forwards and facing me at the same time, the music layering upon itself and the Funktions “opening up reality” (I’ve never heard the whirring-up noise that people associate with DMT but I’ve both heard music step outside the normal confines of time and experienced the most beautiful alien symphonies in silence). I’ve watched the stars turn to Gods and throw themselves at each other. I’ve seen my friend’s Donnie Darko path as he’s passed me. I’ve ran to the bathroom and felt an unseen darkness wring every last drop of piss from me. But it’s always been either “really prominent and in my open-eyed” or “mild closed-eyed”

How do I get that Magpies/Kites/Sinbanshee “guitar bass” sound out of Operator or Serum II?

It’s so damn versatile and solid

One of these artists played an Ashnikko flip (?) during Camp Kouch Sunday night, shot in the dark but it's my new White Whale

I have no idea what the song was, but I'm like 99.999 percent positive it was Ashnikko vocals (really low-pitched sexy/sultriest version of her delivery which is why i say 99 percent)
