This is Sophie, a very neurotic chi. She's 6yrs old and got her when she was 4months

From day1 she has been so afraid of my hand. She'll gasp and jump if it gets too near to her suddenly

I feel that she must have been abused in her 1st home. I've tried everything to help her get over this.

I've never hit her or given her any reason to be afraid of me. She loves cuddles and is always on my lap, and loves to be petted but I almost have to sneak up behind her so she doesn't see my hand. If my hand moves to close even to hold the remote, she does the jumping and gasping

I really don't know what I can do to help her. Maybe she needs anxiety medication
