Sorry, feel like a moron. Tried extensive googling to no avail, including Google Image searches. I can’t find any that have this diagonal metal piece situation going on. I usually hang stuff up with picture frame nails. Size is medium, like 24’’ inch across. Weights <15lb. Bought off FB Marketplace so I don’t know the brand.
My boyfriend, friends, and parents are all engineers. Great career path that allows you to earn well from the get-go. Boyfriend is 80K with 3 weeks PTO, 2 weeks sick leave paid.
In contrast, I’m making $16/hour as a full-time medical assistant with limited benefits (1 week PTO, no paid sick days), and experiencing financial insecurity even in a LCOL city.
I can’t help but compare myself to them (particularly my same-age peers in post-grad). I logically understand in 10 years I will begin making much more quickly, but emotionally it’s difficult to have unpaid sick days, barely make rent, no travel, etc in the meantime. Coworkers are also very different in this kind of job than engineering; much more anger and toxicity IMO. I’ve considered switching jobs, but I understand no pre-med job is well-paid. Heard good things about CRC positions, but I have lots of research hours and little clinical exp, so MA is probably the right choice for now.
Just looking for commiseration & advice on how to remain grateful & focused. 🫶
