Should I be sad about green tomatoes?
I’m new to vegetable gardening (zone 10b), but so far, it’s going great! I have made four jars of pickles and a gallon of cucumber juice for gimlets 🍸. I have more yard long beans than I know what to do with. Collard greens and cow peas are flourishing.
And then there are the tomatoes. They, too, are doing great. But…I planted a “culinary mix” and all but one plant seem to be some variety of small grape tomato.
My only tomato plant that bears large tomatoes is producing green tomatoes. Should I be sad? I’m not familiar with green tomatoes unless we’re talking fried green tomatoes, which I like, but don’t plan on making all that often.
What do I do with these green tomatoes? If you grow them, how do you enjoy them?
EDIT: I KNOW TOMATOES GO FROM GREEN TO RED. I POSTED ON ANOTHER GROUP (MAYBE THIS ONE?) ASKING ABOUT THIS ONE’S VARIETY, AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS A GREEN TOMATO AND IT MIGHT STAY THAT WAY. Jfc, some of you are miserable people.
