RV Life 🤦♀️
So I live in an RV park and I’ve lived here since about March. Let me start off by saying, you would be so surprised at how many elderly people party at an RV park… (not like a small get together, I’m talking loud music late at night, drinking until crazy plastered and swinging. IM 23 AM I CRAZY FOR JUST NOW BEING EXPOSED TO AN ELDER COMMUNITY LIKE THIS). Anywho I’m chill with them partying, I don’t ever complain (well usually) until it started being a constant thing.
My neighbor is one of the constant party people. A lady whose been married 9 times and works at a bingo hall; and she’s well known at the RV park for being the gossip (she even will tell you herself that you shouldn’t tell her anything because then everyone will know). She even recently added these bright porch lights all around her rv with the help of the PARK OWNER (I want to also mention these lights are plugged in on MY site’s electrical box). These lights shine so bright into my rv that I had to buy the highest grade blackout curtains for it to even look like nighttime in the rv or else it constantly appeared to be day time.
The park owner always says how I’m “such a good spirit” at their fun and “never complain”, but I’m just so tired of them letting so much shit slide and obviously picking favorites. Just a couple days ago the park owner chewed out a person for letting rugs dry on an old porch set up at a site that no one uses. The people had only had it out there for less than 30 minutes and there are no dryers at the rv able to withstand drying a rug and no laundromat super close by. SHE LITERALLY THREATENED TO THROW AWAY THE RUGS IF THEY WERENT REMOVED RIGHT WHEN SHE TEXTED.
The owner, their son, and their ex partner run the park. The son makes laps on a golf cart of the park all day long and constantly is riding around whenever you’re just trying to back up or pull in, somehow he’s always close by. The son is always decked out in pot themed clothes and my partner and I have got to witness him dropping beer off at the rv office multiple times. (As you would think, it’s mostly a chill laidback place).
Now some of the the rv owners complaints are reasonable to me, such as when she has said how owners need to pick up their dogs’ waste at the dog park or else they will not be allowed to use the dog park due to the fact that other dogs could get sick because of this, but she always takes it way too far. She then sent out multiple different times in the group chat how this was the “last warning” (even though there were multiple ‘last’ warnings before) that if this issue wasn’t resolved then no one would be able to use the dog park and anyone found guilty would be completely removed from the park.
We have also had issues with GROWN adults trashing the bathrooms and showers (leaving literal shit everywhere… and yes… in the showers.. thank god my rv shower works..). As well as both men and women seen going into the opposite shower room on purpose. (Yet she didn’t kick out anyone over this to my knowledge, yet said how she said cameras and would “find out” or “I have little spies around the park who will let me know”).
She also says how she has people who are “always watching” which is sadly true, I was up at the office one time putting my rent in the drop box when I got yelled at by some random lady who said “um excuse me can I help you” and I just blankly said “um, I live here. I’m paying my rent. 😐”. She then just apologized and drove off, she was none of the owners…. You would think with all these people and all the free time they seem to have… that maybe we could just have someone making rounds at the dog park and cleaning up every so often and people doing a restroom/shower check every so often to quickly ensure the cleanliness they desire. The owners talk constantly about cleaning the park yet I only see them mowing every so often and sometimes working on rv (but they also told people how they wouldn’t do that unless they were paid extra).
Well today was the icing on the cake, like I’ve said I’ve lived here for a good bit and whenever I come home it’s the same way I always have. I drove in (same as always), had to stop in the middle of the road because the owners son saw me yet proceeded to still almost go on the cart, I stopped for him (gave him and a wave and nod since that’s what he did to me.. also not that it matters but he was decked out in his usual pot themed wear) /and went to my rv which had trash outside that was not there earlier today and a lock on my side storage had been broken as if someone tried to break into it. (Just my luck). Well I’m inside washing up some dishes to make some food and cleaning up where my cat tore up my clean laundry when all of the sudden I get a text. It reads and I quote “Hey girl! Gonna need u to slow down in ur vehicle please...thanks!!”.
I just breathe and reply “heard”, but in reality I have got to rant somewhere so I hopped on here. I drive the same way I have since I’ve got here and it’s never been an issue, I stopped for the son and waved (if he was upset at my driving then he should’ve just waved me down and asked “hey when you first pull in, can you make sure to slowly ease in if I’m up here. Thank you”, yet no someone who wasn’t even there sent me the message).
I just don’t see how big issues keep getting excused somehow, the owners can legit break their own rules all the time yet the moment anyone else does then our home security is threatened to be removed, and how they can be so laid back sometimes then the next day it’s totally different. Just fed up and ready to be at a different RV park next year.
