Dinner leftovers spike at lunch UGH

Ate the exact same thing for lunch today as I had for dinner last night—cut up cucumber, ribboned carrot, shrimp, brown rice noodles, homemade peanut sauce (unsweetened peanut butter, soy sauce, sriracha, rice vinegar). Walked after dinner last night and lunch today. 114 last night, 149 today!!! Obviously I know that an occasional spike isn’t going to concern my doc, and I’m learning what works and what doesn’t (clearly less tolerant at lunch) but so frustrating because it’s my first mealtime spike since I was diagnosed and started checking sugars on 9/15! Birth at Sisters Hospital

Hi! I am ~20w pregnant and my provider delivers at Sisters Hospital! Starting to handle birth preferences with doula, and want to get feedback about Sisters Hospital! It looks like from their website they are mother-baby centered, and working to reduce interventions, but wondering if people could share their experiences with how their birth was there? Thanks in advance!

Reasonable Dog Rescues

I am looking to rescue a dog as my dog passed away recently and my house feels giant and heartbroken. I have started putting in applications at rescues, but I am sometimes not even finishing them because I start to feel like there is a chance I will never be approved. One rescue had a section after "how long would dog be alone" asking what my plan was if dog is left for more than 4 hours, another wanted an explanation for why my prior dog didn't have yearly heart worm tests, when that isn't even recommended by my vet?

Does anyone have recommendations of rescues that are reputable, but reasonable? I don't have an issue with a home visit, providing references, providing a vet reference, but I don't want to be rejected out of hand because I have a 9-5 job 4 of 5 days a week.

Stroller/Bassinet HELP!

I’m due in Dec, FTM. Live in a northeastern climate, if that’s relevant.

Anyways, my husband and I are set on the Uppababy Cruz. My plan was to skip the Uppababy bassinet as it has the lie flat option, although it does look like the bassinet is so nice and easy for newborns. We were going to get the newton bassinet (199.99) to have bedside in the first few weeks, although our bedroom is big enough that we’re going to transition to the crib pretty early hopefully.

With that in mind, would we be better off getting the UB bassinet and stand to have bedside and then getting more use in the stroller? Or is the breathability on the newton worth it, and the lay flat will be fine in the Cruz?

Neighbor Issues

Mostly a neighbor rant, although I do wonder whether I'm being irrational. My next door neighbor has something to complain about EVERYTHING. For context, we are in a city, so her house is next to my driveway without a buffer.

I have tried to be very cordial since we came in last summer. We have a privacy fence on our property, and she asked early on if we would mind if she painted a mural her side. I said that wasn't a problem, I don't see her side and don't care. I snowblowed her and her boyfriend's sidewalk all winter whenever I went out as well, and my husband came out and helped her up the stairs after her knee replacement. I don't think any of these things are like extreme niceness we should get an award for, I'm just trying to explain that I think we're regular people.

She has complained that our driveway camera's motion sensor is "too sensitive" and she doesn't have enough privacy in the room that faces our driveway. This is despite the fact that her and her boyfriend have motion lights facing our driveway that go off when I am walking through my kitchen.

Today, I am getting a mini split unit installed in my bedroom, which requires the condenser to be outside on our driveway. I wanted it under the kitchen so it wasn't directly under the bedroom, and she yelled at the workers that the "blowing" would blow pollution directly into her room if there is wind (which the window is about 7-8 feet up from ground level).

So whatever, I'm moving it a little further back, it's not the end of the world, but part of me is starting to wonder at what point I stop accommodating and just say "it is my house, leave me alone"?
