More swatches on my now-pale desaturated olive skin - Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-on Lip Liner this time. Swatches are top to bottom in order of the display in the last pic except the two with the arrow that were switched in the sockets…

I really like Rush on me except for the fact that they had to add shimmer to that shade only?! Why?? 😩 (I’m trying to find a natural looking liner that brightens my face a bit, so I don’t want shimmer/glitter making it look like I’m wearing makeup).

I swatched these before buying the Sassy Rhubarb bc it didn’t read orange/brown (and before seeing how horribly Sephora lighting distorts color perception, and before any understanding of how muted / desaturated I am!) and then laughed at how awful it looked when I put it on in the car (you can see how bad in the last pic here: https://www.reddit.com/r/OliveMUA/comments/1u4h1wp/how_to_conteract_corpse_lips_on_a_muted_light/ )

fyi, I swatched almost all of the Charlotte Tilbury liners here: https://www.reddit.com/r/OliveMUA/comments/1uda5n2/charlotte_tillbury_lip_cheat_liners_on_light/ and Urban Decay liners I’ve yet to post - and ironically, the Make Up For Ever extreme liners were the LEAST waterproof of all three when I got in a warm shower and went to rub them off! They came off quite easily which means they wouldn’t last as long eating/drinking as the others, but I fell for their “extreme waterproof” marketing.

Anyone want to guess what color it is before you scroll down?

So I’m hoping for two things here:

1. opinions on what liners or stains might give my face a little more life, given that we now know *this color is the actual color of my lips. (I need something I can put on and forget about - long lasting and doesn’t feel like much). I really want to find My Lips But BETTER 😩

2. Long lasting dupes for *this color since it obviously works well just as just a liner for me but isn’t long lasting at all.

Swatched them all except Supersize Me which wasn’t out but apparently I should’ve asked them to make a new tester bc from what I’ve seen on others it might have been my best color from these? 😭

I got Big Lift per several recs in this thread - https://www.reddit.com/r/OliveMUA/comments/1u4h1wp/how_to_conteract_corpse_lips_on_a_muted_light/ - (I’m a total makeup newb) and decided to try Line Leader as well since it looks lighter, but still mauve. (In the arm swatches, Line Leader is on top, Big Lift on bottom)

However, they still both look too orange on me! 😭 Given the available colors and how these two look on my skin & lips, I’d love some opinions on which color I should try instead (or just give up on this lip liner line if none seem like they’ll work on my corpse lips? 🧟‍♀️ )

Anyone have the original download of this and any other info she had on her The Beauty Wisdom website about this system HALEY KIM* (I messed up the title and put Ashley 😫) developed for foundation color matching? (The whole site is just completely gone from the internet now for some reason - does anyone know why??)

I'm a painter but makeup newbie with very little money so I'm trying to do as much research as possible to find products that will work for my muted now-light olive skin. I'm using this chart to do some computer swatching from photos (I'II explain/demonstrate in another post) and the degradation of the graphic from taking a screenshot from a video made me want the full resolution chart but I can't seem to find it *anywhere* online (nor is it referenced in this subreddit already).

(Also, I find it interesting that she doesn't have a "cool olive" - just olive, neutral olive, and warm olive - as if cool is the baseline. Thoughts?)

So I’m a total makeup newb despite not being young, and while I used to be a Medium Muted Neutral(?) Olive (can you change temperature?), when I became sick with an autoimmune disorder some years ago it meant I can no longer spend time in the sun… which as most of you know, for a muted olive that’s like a life sentence to Zombieland. 🧟‍♀️

I’m a trained artist, however, so my understanding of color theory led me to dye my hair plum to accent my olive green eyes and try and put a little life back into my appearance as my hair started to gray and my skin turned grayer… and also give myself a bit of contrast that I’ve never had in my appearance before.

I’m now trying to find a lip liner that’s like “your lips but better” because I just look more and more sickly. I want something very long lasting so I don’t have to remember to check myself in the mirror throughout the day (I won’t). I tried to pick something up at Sephora but didn’t know to look at (hand) swatches outside the store (I assumed they’d have appropriate lighting for their industry!!) and when I got in the car, the Make Up For Ever Extreme Lip Liner in Sassy Rhubarb (see pics) was SO SATURATED 😭 Definitely not what I was going for, but my purple to blue-violet lips need some major counteraction, and I don’t want *brown* lips.

I’m on an extremely tight budget so I can’t just be buying things willy nilly, so any suggestions from other Muted Light Neutral Olives or those with a good understanding of what products are out there that might work would be so appreciated. Thank you 🖖🫒

ps No, I did not intentionally make my eyes look like olives! I was simply anonymizing myself and color picking my eye color and the darker ring around my irises for better color harmonizing, but only after I finished did I see what had happened. 😆
