THE lipstick I’ve been looking for!

THE lipstick I’ve been looking for!

Lipstick shades are always either too saturated, too dark, too cool, too warm ect. you know the drill. I stumbled upon Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Cappuccino Light on accident, but I absolutely love it. It gives warmth without being orange! The forumula is balmy and comfortable.

Also, I appear a touch more desaturated in the picture than IRL, so try the shade before you buy it!

Update from my previous post

Firstly, thank you all for your suggestions on my previous post! 🩷

So I made this post some time ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/OliveMUA/s/GDYZ99i3Ef

I was asking for a berry lipstick on medium olive skin. I bought Mac Rebel since it was the most upvoted suggestion on that post. I love this shade so so much. It's hard to find berry shades like these, especially for tan/medium skin tones.

What do you guys think? I think it's hard to tell from the pics, but the shade is darker than it looks on camera.

MLBB for NC35-42 range folks

Well the title says it all, I guess. I am looking for ideas for MLBB shades that olives in the NC35-42 depth range like.

Here's mine - I am currently using Nars Walkyrie powermatte pencil (love the formula!) and I like the shade a lot. It looks very bare/nude on me but it's a little too light and too peachy to be perfectly ideal. Something just a smidge deeper and bit cooler would be awesome.

Any other recommendations?

NARS Loves Me Not…

… is worth it. I rarely buy limited edition makeup right when it launches, but I couldn’t resist this color and I’m SO glad I bought it. It’s the most beautiful and natural light pink flush on a light olive skin tone. Chef’s kiss.

It’s out-of-stock at the moment, but do yourself a favor and add yourself to the waitlist.

Finally, a match for powder foundation!

I just wanted to share with the olive community how I found a perfect match at last.

I tried some powder foundations labeled "olive" from The All Natural Face, Just Pure Minerals, MAD Minerals, and Lucy Minerals. They all pulled orange on me.

Then, I learned on this video

that all foundations are mixed from just white, yellow, red, and black. The green in olive foundation comes from the yellow and black.

So, I added a TINY bit of some matte black eyeshadow to the orangey foundations and was able to make a perfect match! You could use gray if you're too fair to use black. You could also add yellow eyeshadow or correcting powder, but the foundations I got have enough yellow in them for my skin.

I mixed one color to match my face for concealing. I mixed a second color to match the rest of my body and tap it on with my large brush, so my face can match my body. It looks like nothing!

I hope this helps!

Another decent match

Hi everyone, since sharing Nars Vanuatu seemed to help some of you, today I'm sharing another one.

This is the Rodial skin tint in shade 03 St. Barths.

It feels a smidge light to me because the pigmentation around my mouth and forehead show through making it look a little grey in those areas. But peach colour correction underneath helps with that.

Also want to add that this tint tends to accentuate dry patches.

Forgive the crazy hair, I'm due for a haircut soon🙈

Products used:

Base: Rodial Skin Tint in shade 03 St. Barths

Colour correction for undereye: Nars Light Reflecting Eye Brightener in Magic Hour

Blush: Ilia Multistick in Whisper

Lips: Makeup revolution Gloss Stick in Sugar Plum Mauve and Charlotte Tilbury MI Kiss lip liner

Lancome Lash Idole Mascara

Highlighter: Hourglass Gilded Strobe Light

Kiko Milano Eye Shadow Stick 63 Bronze

Eyeliner: Estee Lauder Waterproof Eye Pencil - Espresso

Bottom lash liner : Zoeva Plum

Lower waterline : Make up forever Aqua Resist pencil 04 Sand

Upper waterline (tightlined): Zoeva Black

Spot concealed for a few blemishes: Lisa Eldridge Pinpoint Concealer Micro Correcting Pencil in shade 8

No brow products used, just brushed them.

Can you help me choose a foundation shade ?

I have a light medium/medium neutral-warm with subtle olive undertone and with a golden overtone but not yellow. I never found my foundation.

Every single time my foundation is too warm, to yellow or too gray. My cheeks are lighter than the rest of my face. My forehead is darker and warmer with olive undertone, the region around my mouth has olive undertone. My neck is slightly dark than my face.

I don't know if I am a golden olive since I see some golden tone in my skin.

I can't share pictures for safety reasons.

So please help me.

The Nyx foundation Can't stop Won't stop True Beige shade is too yellow and turns orange with oxidization and the Medium Olive becomes orange too.

The L'Oréal True Match concealer 4N shade is light for me.

Every time I watch videos about my skin tone, the girls skin doesn't look like mines, they seem lighter or darker than me but use the same foundation shades 🤨

I am sick of buying foundations and wasting my money.

Wedding Lipsticks Recommendations.

Hi all! I am currently on the hunt for my perfect "my lips but better" lipstick and I'm really struggling! Most of what I try either goes purple/clownish or orange and gives me spaghetti mouth.

I can wear Mac Paramount and Merit L'avenue well but I can't find a good nude. I was looking into Mac Alone time but I'm worried it will be too grey.

Any suggestions? I am a light neutral olive that leans slightly warm if that helps.

Would this peach-toned (top half) hair colour look good on a fair muted olive?

Photos are Wetleg and Pink Pantheress!! I’ve seen this hair tone a few times lately and I’m really inspired by it, but scared I’d look really bad :,)

I’m a cool muted olive with yellow overtone! Deep brown hair and a soft summer. Not super comfortably sharing pics online.

I’m open to suggestions for similar colours OR colours that carry a similar, nude pastel vibe!

Guerlain Rouge G Le Grége Rose 521 vs Revlon Rose Velvet 130

Would anyone happen to know if these two shades are dupes in real life?

Edited for clarification: I have Revlon Rose Velvet, but I am looking for something similar in Guerlain Rouge G Collection. If anyone happens to have both shades to compare, please let me know.

Search

I know that there was a discussion about NARS Hunger blush a while back. Here is how it looks on my light - light medium skin . I also have ABH bronzer on. No highlighter but my cheeks always look like I have it on due to my combo oily skin. Hope that this helps some people out .

About Face Illusionist Concealer Reviews Please!

Hey everyone! I am getting married soon and as a light/medium neutral olive, most of my concealers are not terrible but are slightly off.

I've been super interested in the new(ish) about face concealer but I haven't been able to find a ton of reviews and chat about it outside of Ulta reviews. Can anyone who has used it consistently give me your honest review about the formula, longevity etc?

Exact matches to About Face foundation M2Olive please 🙏🏽

This is the first time I ever found a foundation that matches me perfectly, no notes! However I hate the applicator of the About Face foundation because you have to keep dipping into the bottle and I ran out of the product very fast! And the foundation is super thin, which might be good for light coverage but I prefer more medium to full coverage. And haven’t found any shade matches that’s this good. Please help!

Best self tanner for olive skin?

Since summer is right around the corner in my part of the world I have started looking for a self tanner thats good for Olive toned skin. Every self tanner I have found so far has pulled either yellow, pink or the biggest culprit ORANGE on me. I don’t need it to be dark but rather just a nice bronze. Just so my legs don’t blind the general public lol. I’m also quite fair and definitely a cool toned olive.

Swatches of fair olive bronzers

I used to avoid bronzers like the plague a few years ago but now I’ve become a bit of a connoisseur once I realized they don’t all have to be super orange. But note that I am more of a warm/neutral leaning olive so I am not a fan of bronzers that are too pinky either 🫒. For reference my best foundation match is Lisa eldridge seamless skin foundation in shade 2.5. First swatch pic is in direct sunlight, the second in indirect sunlight and then the last one is from a shadier part of my room.

my friend said i was the most olive person they have seen

We met up to do our makeup and hang out afterwards. They said it out of the blue we were discussing what we do to match our foundations (bronzing mixing etc) and i felt weirdly so validated?

I am a warm olive so many cool olive recommendation don’t suit me and i felt seen in a way that i was never before.

just wanted to humble brag i guess lol. This is a yellow olive appreciation post.
