I have an idea about how Scream 8 could go, in order to be extremely different from the previous films. So, every Ghostface killer up to this point has been killed off by the end of the movie. What if they were actually captured and arrested at some point during the story? Like at the end of Act 1? Then, Act 2 could be the kind of huge media coverage trial akin to what Mickey wanted to happen after Scream 2? Then Sidney and the rest of the survivors would have to deal with the stress and trauma of confronting the killer in court, trying to prove their guilt/innocence, etc. But then, after Ghostface has been tried, convicted, and sentenced, Act 3 would involve them succeeding in escaping from the prison, going on another killing rampage, and eventually culminating in a final showdown with Sidney, Gale, or whoever. Or maybe the movie could end on a cliffhanger after the trail ends, and a Part 2 finale could focus on Ghostface being in prison, dealing with that chaos, and eventually escaping to go after Sidney again. That way, the series has the only Ghostface who’s actually been knowingly arrested (I know Billy Loomis was arrested in Scream 1, but no one knew for certain that he was actually one of the killers yet) and stood trial before eventually getting killed off. I really think that would make Scream 8/9 extremely special and unique. Thoughts?
