what to do with the back and how do i ask my barber for layers

if layers would help it not look like a rectangle.

I do have a wave pattern 2b but it is very hard to define as just the ends seem to wave.

i genuinely dont know what to do with the back

it looks super flat and like a rectangle,i do have 2b hair but i usually straighten it rather than trying to define the wave cuz the wave dissapears throught the day and just the ends wave.I dont know what to do,maybe layer it,will that do anything?
