Timeline for pushing back applications

Basically title, I was originally planning to apply for 2026-27 cycle but between LSAC GPA changes and my general belief that I'll be a stronger applicant if I take an additional gap year, I'm strongly considering pushing back my application to the 2027-28 cycle. For anyone that's done something similar, what's a good timeline to follow? I took my first LSAT in August 2026 and was planning to retake in October, but am thinking I can instead retake in Jan/Feb or even April to stretch out my studying. I also already asked my 3 recommenders for letters, so any advice on how to discuss this with them would be helpful. Finally, I also want to take the year to fully flesh out my PS and my optional essays, so any timelines that might be helpful for that would be so helpful! Thanks all :)

7Sage vs. LSATDemon vs. other self study options for 170+?

Basically title, what online tools have worked for you all to get 170+ on the LSAT? I used 7Sage for a few months and it got me to high 160s-170, but I was wondering if anyone thinks another platform is better for people trying to get into the low-mid 170s. Any advice or experience appreciated!

Effect of Undergrad Institution on Admissions

Hi everyone! Really weird question, but while researching some law schools (specifically Syracuse Law) I saw that they consider the undergraduate institution attended when evaluating candidates. I was wondering if anyone had any insights on how this would be evaluated, or what it potentially means for admissions evaluations.

Context for me: I attended a T200 (very, very average) private university, and was wondering how that will be judged while I am applying to schools!

When to decide on retaking from August

Hi everyone and congratulations to all of my fellow Aug2026 LSAT survivors ✊ I took the LSAT for the first time last Friday and truly cannot tell if I did worse, the same, or better than I was expecting. I originally only planned to take once BUT have my heart set on that 170+ so I’ve been thinking about registering to take the October test as well. If anyone else is thinking of doing the same or has any advice, when should we be deciding by and how did you decide? I’m worried about taking advantage of as much study time as possible while balancing that with burnout and a soon-to-be very busy schedule come September. Any advice or experience would be very welcome!!

Thoughts on Leland Law School Bootcamp?

Hi everyone! I received a scholarship for Leland’s law school application bootcamp and wanted to know if anyone has any experience/knowledge of this course. I honestly had no intentions of using any kind of admissions consulting/advising service as I only have so much money put aside for applying to law school. I’d have to pay about $200 out of pocket which is a lot cheaper than most admissions advising out there, but it’s still a big enough amount that I’d love to know that it’s worth the time and investment before getting started! Any advice is MUCH appreciated :)
