AITAH for wanting to tell the neighbor to stop sitting in his car all day with the engine running in front of our house?
We have some fairly new neighbors who moved in a couple of years ago. There’s a twenty something daughter who has a boyfriend that apparently came with this family. When they first moved in he would sit in a lawn chair all day. Sometimes with his girlfriend (family daughter), sometimes alone. Recently last year he got a car. Now he sits in it from dawn to dusk. Mostly alone, sometimes with his girlfriend.
I don’t mind him sitting in his car, that’s fine even though sometimes it’s awkward when he’s parked in front of the house and I have to mow the grass or take the dog out, but when he’s running his engine all day (and even on perfect weather days), the sound of the engine and knowing he’s adding to pollution (I live in a city), drives me crazy. Doesn’t bother my wife at all and told me to ignore. I find it hard to. We live on a quiet street and now I find it offensive. Am I being too uptight?
